January 18, 2021 The Port Huron Area School District Board of Education will meet tonight to discuss the possibility of resuming in person classes in the district. Currently only Pre-K through 5th grade students have resumed face to face learning using the district’s hybrid “one day on one day off” approach. Board members tonight will decide whether grade 6 through 12 students should do the same. Also tonight, newly elected board members Jessica Totty and Frank Partipilo will be seated at the board as will returning member Ann Murphy. The meeting takes place virtually at 5pm. While the big day is centred around the mouth-watering anticipation of dinner, for me it is Christmas Eve that holds a timeless magical quality. From the age of eight until I was 17, I spent every Christmas Eve with my gran. Dad dropped me off at her flat for the day while he and mum rushed all over the city picking up last minute presents and sorting preparations for big day. ....

(WTWO/WAWV) For the first time in it s history, Calvary Cemetery in Terre Haute took part in Wreaths Across America, honoring veterans in the community. The mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember fallen veterans, honor those who serve and teach children the value of freedom. A tradition that began in 1992 at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C., has found a new location to honor veterans. A local lady who lives in Florida now, Ann Murphy, contacted me and said hey do you want to do this, said Calvary Cemetery owner Larry Silver. After a watching a video of the Wreaths being laid at Arlington with tears, I thought our hometown boys in Terre Haute deserve that. ....

(Screenshot/State House News Service) The artistic director of a Watertown theater will in February become the next director of the Mass Cultural Council, after a unanimous vote Friday by the council s governing body. Michael Bobbitt, a director, choreographer and playwright who came to the New Repertory Theatre in Watertown in 2019 after 12 years serving as artistic director at Maryland s Adventure Theatre-MTC, will succeed longtime executive director Anita Walker, who retired in June. ....
Record price of €5,200 recorded at All-Star Texel in-lamb ewe sale Records were broken at the All-Star Texel in-lamb ewe sale on Saturday last at Blessington Mart, which saw a top price of €5,200 paid out for a twin-bearing ewe and an overall sale clearance rate of 90%. Lot 61, bred by Anthony Donnelly, was bought by Brian Connelly, from Tuam in Co. Galway, for the record-smashing price – of €5,200. This record-breaking in-lamb ewe is a daughter of Garngour Bladerunner and out of a Knock Ursus ewe. She was sold scanned carrying twins and is due to lamb in February. Donnelly also sold two more full sisters of this ewe for €3,000 and €1,600 respectively. ....
