The Montana Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE) is now taking public comments on how to carry out a new law that allows concealed carry firearms on all Montana University System campuses.
This aspect of House Bill 102 becomes effective on June 1.
OCHE is drafting a university system-wide policy proposal for the Board of Regents to approve at their meeting May 26-27. OCHE is reviewing concealed carry laws by other states and any corresponding campus policies.

ALBANY, N.Y. (WKBW) â The New York State Board of Regents is taking bold action to help address unique student needs linked to the pandemic.
On Monday, the board acted on a series of emergency regulations to allow for exemptions to diploma requirements associated with June and August 2021 Regents exams. This includes a plan to cancel the August 2021 Regents Exams. Should the U.S. Department of Education deny the Departmentâs waiver request, only four of the June 2021 Regents Exams would be held.

ALBANY The state Board of Regents on Monday voted unanimously to cancel all Regents exams this year except for four federally mandated tests in English, algebra, earth science and the living environment.
The Regents tests will also not be a requirement to earn diplomas this year; students must simply pass their courses to graduate.

WACO, TX â The Baylor University Board of Regents has approved the construction of a $2.5 million Autism Clinic.
The center will be a part of the Department of Communication Science and Disorders in the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. It will be built in repurposed and renovated space within the Cashion/ Hankamer complex.
According to Baylor, the clinic will include autism-specific clinical research spaces focusing on:
Concussion management
Motor sensory labs
Preschool and toddler age accommodations
The finishes will be specific to the needs of clients with autism. There will also be research lab and graduate student space within the clinic.
