Share: Colombo (News 1st); His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith requested the general public to observe two minutes silence at 8.45 am on the 21st April as a mark of respect for victims of the 2019 Terror Attacks. Addressing the media on Monday (19) His Eminence said all Catholic schools in the country will be given a special holiday on 21st April 2021, on the day the world marks 02 years since the terror attacks took place. “The attacks affected all communities in Sri Lanka,” said His Eminence adding that his comments on Sunday (19) were taken in the wrong context. “I did not say that Muslim Extremism was not present in the country. I did not refer to any political force in the country. I was referring to global Wahhabism. It is possible that Wahhabism is being used as a tool by some powerful countries in the world,” said His Eminence.
