Daily Post Nigeria Published Unknown gunmen have abducted Prof. Aliyu Mohammed of the Department of Agriculture, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the abduction occured on Sunday night and the son of the Prof, Abdulaziz was also killed. Mr Usman Aliyu, son of the kidnapped professor, told NAN that the incident took place on Sunday at about 10.30 p.m at Wusasa, Zaria, Kaduna State. Aliyu also confirmed that the kidnappers also shot Malam Abubakar Kabir, who is a younger brother to the deceased (Abdulaziz Aliyu). He said no sooner than he returned to the family house at 10.30 p.m on Sunday, he heard sudden gunshots and took cover by hiding somewhere in the compound. ....

The invaded local government areas are Igabi, Zaria and Giwa. It was gathered that the bandits first launched an attack on Anaba village and Birnin Yero town all in Igabi LG where one person was killed The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the attack on Monday, gave the name of the victim as Lawali Abdulhameed. The commissioner disclosed that the bandits stormed Wusasa in Zaria LGA where they kidnapped the Wazirin Wusasa (title holder), Prof. Aliyu Mohammed, in his residence while his son, Abdulaziz Aliyu, was killed during the raid. ....
