An investigation has been launched into the shooting death of a Southern University alumn while she was dropping her son off at the U.S. Naval Academy.
According to Annapolis Police, 57-year-old Michelle Jordan Cummings was hit by a stray bullet in the early hours of June 29 while sitting on the patio of her hotel room with her husband and friends. The search has intensified for the suspect who gunned down a Houston woman who was visiting Maryland to drop off her son at the Naval Academy. The FBI and the Annapolis Police are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunman.
Police said Michelle Cummings, 57, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting at her hotel in Annapolis early on Tuesday morning. She was sitting on the balcony with her husband after dropping off their son.
The suspect reportedly fired several shots from an SUV across from the hotel, striking Cummings who was reportedly not the intended target.
