CUJ launches âsource study of Aerosols in Jammuâ
âResearch project envisages 1-year rigorous sampling, followed by laboratory analysisâ
JAMMU: Flag off ceremony of âSource Apportionment study of Aerosols in Jammuâ was today held in CUJ Campus.
Chief Guest, Suresh Chugh, Chairman, JKPCB and Vice Chancellor Prof. Ashok Aima inaugurated the air monitoring station.
For this project, five High volume samplers of latest technology will be installed at different signature sites viz. CUJ, Bari Brahmna, Vikram Chowk, Narwal and Kachchi Chawni for sampling of PM2.5 (the fine particles in air) in Jammu. This one-year rigorous sampling campaign will be followed by laboratory analysis of collected samples and receptor modelling to identify the major sources of air pollution in Jammu.

JAMMU, Feb 25: One-day national seminar on “Communicating Indian knowledge through transforming Teacher Education: A vision of NEP-2020” was organized by the Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu under the aegis of School of Education, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) – a national scheme of MHRD, Govt of India, in collaboration with the Vidya Bharati Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan (VBUSS).
The key-note speaker of the seminar, Prof C B Sharma, School of Education, IGNOU, stressed that the education must be provided through vernacular medium therefore emotional attachment would be built among the children to work for their motherland. He said that there is a need of trained teachers to be employed at Anganwadi Centers too.

Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today called for replicating the success stories of innovative and progressive farmers from across the country in Jammu and Kashmir through transmission of ideas and knowledge sharing for transforming agriculture & allied sectors, and for realizing the goal of doubling farmers’ income.
