The wives of the governors of Anambra, Osun, Bayelsa, Taraba, Oyo and Enugu States yesterday made a collective call against gender violence in the country.
The wife of the governor of Anambra State, and the Founder of Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE), Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, led other first ladies to rally support against gender violence during the 2021 mother’s summit held in Awka, Anambra State, recently.
Obiano, who spoke during the summit on the theme: âFighting Gender Violence in COVID-19 Worldâ, said the topic was chosen with a view to generate discussions to seek ways to end the gender violence as a social scourge.

The Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, has urged women to ensure healthy communication and bonding in families, especially at this period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She gave the advice in a statement to commemorate this year’s Mothering Sunday in honour of Mothers of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Awka, on Sunday.
The statement was made available to newsmen by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to Anambra Governor, Mr Emeka Ozumba.
