I attended two meetings this week on Redistricting, and since we are unable to see the participants via ZOOM (their names or part of their phone numbers show up on the top of the ZOOM screen from my view) only when they speak, it is impossible for the public to know who was logged on by computer or by phone. This article is not meant to be written in the manner of a professional reporter, but rather from a participant’s point of view.In the first meeting that I attended with the Los Angeles County Citizens Redistricting Commission on Monday night, I believe I only heard about three public speakers which includes my comments. ....

Govt urged to hold local govt elections June 30, 2021 LAHORE: Civil society organisations and people from a cross section of society have demanded the Punjab government immediately announce schedule for local government elections, saying it should be announced 120 days before the elections. The conference held here on Tuesday by Baidarie, Sialkot, in collaboration with South Asia Partnership Pakistan (SAP), Sangat Development Foundation (SDF) and Women in Struggle for Empowerment (WISE) stressed that the Punjab government should immediately approve and implement the law of local government as per the decision of the Supreme Court. Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed, Minister Housing & Planning, and PTI MPA Sadia Sohail were the chief guests at the conference. ....

The first Los Angeles County area specific meeting was on June 14, 2021; it is shown here as location “ A”. The second area specific meeting was on June 23, 2021; it is shown here as location “ D.” A meeting is scheduled June 28, 2021, for area “I” which is shown in purple on the above map. There are regular meetings dates that are not on this map. To date, I believe that these meetings have been via ZOOM.
