May 13, 2021 The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the whereabouts of a registered sex offender who is out of compliance with his required registration. Deputies recently conducted an address verification for registered sex offender, Carl R. Penwell, age 33 with a last known address of 2414 Bogus Rd SE, Washington Court House, Ohio. During contact, deputies discovered that Penwell was no longer residing at the Bogus Road home as registered with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Penwell’s whereabouts are currently unknown. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Carl Penwell are encouraged to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at (740)335-6170. May 13, 2021 The Ross County NAACP and VFW Post 108 are announcing that the application period for the Alonzo Lenoir Memorial Scholarship is now open until June 14th. Two scholarships will be awarded to Ross County Graduating Seniors in the amount of $1500.00 each. To be eligible a student must have a family member who is a Veteran or currently in the Armed Forces, including the Reserve & National Guard. Also, an eligible recipient can be someone who will be a Cadet at a Military school or ROTC program (Excluding High School Junior ROTC). The eligible recipient must have a scholastic achievement of at least a 2.5 grade average or above. ....
May 13, 2021 The Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7) is featuring a virtual Art, Essay and Poetry Showcase on the Agency’s website throughout the month of May which is observed across the country as Older Americans Month. Each year, the AAA7 hosts an in-person Art Show during May and June. Last year, the event was moved to a virtual format due to the pandemic and the importance of the health and safety of participants and those from the community who attend the event. That format will continue for this year and like last year, no judging will take place. To view the Showcase, log on to the Agency’s website at www.aaa7.org. On the Home Page, there is a box with a link to the “Virtual Art Show”. Art and written pieces are listed for each individual who has participated. ....
May 13, 2021 The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Portsmouth Police Department today released an age-progression image of Megan Lancaster, a missing southern Ohio woman, and are seeking the public’s assistance with the case. “As a forensic tool, an age-progression images may be helpful to renew the public’s interest in a case and might just bring out a tip that solves the case,” Attorney General Dave Yost said. “If you have any information regarding Megan’s disappearance or whereabouts, please contact the Portsmouth Police Department.” Lancaster has been missing since April 3, 2013. Her car was found abandoned two days later at a fast food restaurant in Portsmouth. ....

Highland County’s first dose Pfizer vaccine clinic for those 12 and older is going to be held on Wednesday, May 19 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Highland County Health Department. Pre-registration is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted. To register for Highland County’s Pfizer vaccine, click HERE, or call the Highland County Health Department at 937-393-1941.
