Domestic abuse bill: what amendments are peers voting on?

Last modified on Mon 15 Mar 2021 19.56 EDT Campaigners on violence against women who have been galvanised by the strength of feeling around the killing of Sarah Everard are highlighting a number of amendments to the domestic abuse bill that is passing through the House of Lords. What amendments are peers voting on in the Lords on Monday? Peers have made a number of amendments to the bill that tackle violence against women and misogyny. If they pass, the bill could return to the Commons to be considered by MPs. Two key measures that campaigners have backed included: Making misogyny a hate crime, which would give tougher sentencing where misogyny is a factor as well as allowing police to keep better data on what crimes have misogyny as an aggravating factor.
