Youngkin's schools chief resigns after department missteps

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Jillian Balow, Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin's superintendent of public instruction, announced her resignation Wednesday in a letter to the governor that did not offer a specific reason for her departure.
