Yearlong Ocracoke Light Station construction project begins;

A $3.6 million project involving construction and hurricane repair work is underway at the Ocracoke Light Station on Ocracoke Island. The parking area in front of the light station will be closed for the duration of the project, but the grounds should mostly remain open, according to the National Park Service.
