Agencies Related Xiaomi has followed in on the tech giant Apple's footsteps and decided to junk the charger with its new Mi 11 smartphone. Citing environmental concerns, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun took to the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, to confirm the news. His post read, "Mi 11, pack lightly. In response to the call of technology and environmental protection, the included charger is cancelled from the box." He further wrote, "Hope to get your support. Is there a better solution between industry practice and environmental protection?" Earlier in mid-October, after the launch of iPhone 12 series, Apple had made a similar announcement. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer had mocked the Cupertino-based smartphone maker with a video clip that shows a Mi 10T box with a charger inside, and captioning the post, "Don't worry, we didn't leave anything out of the box with the Mi 10T Pro".
