A week after a gunman opened fire at a Florida High School tonight changes in our daily lives. Even here in the Delaware Valley and National Theater chain with new policy designed to protect people who head to the movies. The new rule leave your big purses and bags at home. Thanks for joining us at ten coliseum iain page all part of a new security rule with sin 93 mark chain. Fox 29s dave kinchen joins us live in south jersey is the sin 93 mark theater in somerdale tonight. Dave . Reporter well its all effective moment tomorrow and this is something many people say is a sign of times but still they say they heard about it without any warning. We just purchased tickets and nothing was stated about that. Report roar marcus james was surprised to hear that the sin 93 mark theater he was heading into in somerdale won allow large bags any more. The same is true for sin mark theaters across the country leaving many movie goers with questions. My wife she got a bag. She has her pocketbook. I think we should have the right to bring things our bags in, you know, us women especially women we like to carry a lot of things, you know. Reporter new policy on the sin mark website says any bags or packages lar jenn than 12 by 12 by six will not be permitted inside. Adding that staff reserves the right to check any bags brought in as a means of enforcement. We pick up this box with similar dimensions to get better idea of the new policy. This is my standard work bag and as you can see, it looks like it would simply be too big to take inside. Checking them now a days is a good idea. Because of all the things going on. Reporter we saw some bags that appeared too big to be let in. Many understand the rules but wonder if they go too far. Especially with the heightened sense of emergency and everything going on, you know, with the that latest shooting down in florida. I can understand, but i mean, as far as, you know, taking it to the extreme that kind of level, i dont know about all of that. Reporter its still not clear how sin mark plans to enforce the new rules. Website also says that it does not have a set aside area for any of these bags. So it sounds like your best protocol simply not bring them if you think its simply goes beyond the regulations. Back to you. All right, dave. Thank you. In washington, d. C. Today, the president shaking the hands of teenagers who survived last weeks massacre in florida. Those children and parents with a heartbreaking plea. Make it stop. I dont understand why ick still go in a store and buy a weapon of war. An ar. How is it that easy to buy this type of weapon . How do we not stop this after columbine, after sandy hook im sit with mother who lost her son. Its still happening. My daughter has no voice. She was murdered last week and she was taken from us. Shot nine times on the third floor. We as a country failed our children this shouldnt happen. We go to the airport i cant get on a plane with a bottled water but we leave it some animal could walk into a school and shoot our children. Should have been one School Shooting and we should have fixed it. Im pissed because my daughter im not going to see again. I was born into a world where i never got to experience safety and peace. There needs to be significant change in this country because this has to never happen again. No parent should go through this. Every parent who sends their kid to school should know without any question in their mind theyre going to be coming home that day. After sandy hook they said this we wouldnt let this happen again and yet it continued to happen for five years. How many more deaths can we take as country . That plea for change extending all the way down from d. C. To florida students across the state walking to Parkland High School the scene of that shooting to demand stronger gun control laws. You hold an awful lot of sway in this matter, dont you . Well we could but we hope it can be settled on a friendly base. You know, we dont nobody wants to have a big brew haha from us and the acme Shopping Center. Reporter brew haha, get it, the nearby acme supermarket on Baltimore Pike wants to sell beer and wine to stay competitive with other markets and Convenience Stores in our region. Acme tells it at 23 of its other locations but this store is different. Heres why. A 1959 deed restriction entered into by the landowner and 30 homeowners from the Bowling Green subdivision bans the sale of clique bench beverages on the sight. Acme has a liquor license. The manager says the store needs the unanimous approval. Neighbors to put it to use. If we holds out, theyre up the creek so to speak cummings believes neighbors could be persuaded to allow beer and wine sales may demand acme make improve toms store that its own people admit seen better days. So reporter they have to give up something to get something. Theyre holding the cards.
