Lot of thus morning, bus stop buddy, is dealing with the snow, the best way he knows how, to just bundle up, wear those nice big heavy boots. So, yes. Snowing just about everywhere. We have few little dry areas, but theyre all starting to fill in now. Weve been watching this snow move in, in bands, all morning long, and where you see the darker blue there, thats where the snow is falling heaviest. As predicted, it is the area that has the blizzard warning, and thats along the coastline. You can see the snow covered roads here, in old city. As the septa buses move along very carefully. 24 degrees, but 17mile per hour sustained winds, means, it feels like 11 outside. So plan on snow throughout the Daylight Hours today. Starts to taper off, we think, for most of us around 3 00, 4 00 this afternoon at the very latest, sunset time at 4 50. And we will have the map for you next time, showing you just how much were going to get. Bob kelly, it all depends on where you live. I know, check this out. You will love this one. Exactly what you just talk b look at the winds, on the garden state parkway. And route 47. You can kind of see it garden state parkway, 47, 347, right outside of rio grand, south jersey the shore area getting pounded, south on 295, closed, right before the delaware Memorial Bridge, you want to use 322, to get over to the new jersey turnpike, the turnpike, speed restrictions in play. Lets go down to dover, delaware, and an example of the plow trucks that have been rolling through, no quicker do they come through, look here, watch, as that camera recycles, by looking in the overhead street lamps you can kind of see the wind, how it is blowing, right here, sideways, plow train just went through here, just about five minute ago, and that quick, the road becomes snow covered again. Here is a live look at state road and levick. Now, look here in the overhead street lamps, casino every get idea of how it is coming at you sideways. There is 95 in the background, they become snow covered, so cold that saltbrine solution wont do the trick, sticking to the road surface, look at the flag getting the work out here live look at the ben franklin, all of the area bridges, and looking and being ready for concellations down at the airport. Karen and thomas, back over to you. Bob, thank you so much i just got tweet from someone coming in talking about how it is snowing . Reading, wait until you see the snow down there at the shore, thats, poor steve keel. I talking about sideways, there you go, steve keeley, good morning to you. You know, we only came off the boardwalk about 100 yards. Here is the drop can a remember, half hour ago, we in the front of it, on the boardwalk, wow. How windy it has gotten. The conditions, mike masco, youre right on the money with the prediction about the blizzard conditions. He was worried about his windshield, put the wipers up but the wind clearing the windshield for him, showing the wacky phenomenon that this is. Kind of clear, look at the drifting situation, this was not plowed, this pile, that looks like mini mountain. Jared, stay where you are, ill show how high up the wind drifts are on the sidewalk. Walking in about foot of snow, nothing compared to over there. Judge. Look, i can vanish it, shows you the drifting situation, bob kelly was talking about the parkway. When youre driving on the parkway,. The snow will be blowing, dont be doing 60 Miles Per Hour then suddenly hitting a drifting pile of snow or just a new sheet of ice. Thats why you have these terrible accidents because people think they can go fast, but then not so clear. Can you come over here, show the other side of the drift just from that side . Can you see . Clear pavement, because of the winds, and then a snow drift about ways high. By the way, sue, there is a millabar around the corner, two for one babs blue ribbons right now. Steve, youre the best. Ill be right there. Hold her spot. A lot of school closings, watch the bottom roof your screen, sends us pictures whats happening in your backyard, thank you, we will put those on tv. Getting a loft pictures from wilmington, well share with you in just a moment, for very good reason, theyre seeing goodwyn of the snowstorm moving in there. Jenny joyce joining us from wilmington this morning, hi, jenny. Good morning, and i just stopped this woman, i just a. M. Asking her few quick questions, these conditions are pretty miserable, arent they . Yes, indeed. I see youre trying to block your face from the side blowing snow. It is very windy out here. It is. Why are you outside . Where are you headed . Whats your day look like . Miserable. Miserable. You have to go to work . Im on my way to work. Where do you work. And im late. Youre late. And waiting for the bus. Waiting on the bus. So we can let people know. Because of the transactions. Yes, so the buses also still running here in the city of wilmington, but you are advised to be prepared for delays, so i dont know what time your bus was scheduled for. Do you know . Well i usually catch my bus five minutes to 6 00. All right, so we can expect some delays out here. Weve seen number of people out here, waiting for buses, people trying to walk their dogs, carry on with their morning routine. I dont know what School District. Are you in the charter school. Brandywine School District. I think theyre on two hour delay. Not us. We got to go in early. You still have to go in early, okay. I understand for the kids brandywine Christine School district both on two hour delay, here is bus rolling through, despite delaware government offices, closed today, the Transportation System is still running at this point in time. Back to you guys. All right, thank you, jenn jenny, good evaluation of the situation right there. Weve been all across the area this morning, we do want to bring you breaking news were following, philadelphia firefighters still battling a two alarm fire, this is at second and pemberton in queen village. Saw the firetrucks. Still trying to get it under control in these bitterly cold temperatures. We had this kind of weather, do have number every fires that can happen. Here is another one that happened, to montgomery county, housefully engulfed right there, the crews really busy battling this one. This is on monticello lane in plymouth meeting. We know this one broke out at about 4 30 this morning, firefighters are still on the scene, it is so hardworking those hoses when you have these cold temperatures. And were continuing to work to get more information on that one. But it looks very, very bad there. So weve got the water main breaks also happening all over, and problems on the roads, as well. It will be very busy morning, i know youre waking up this morning, possibly looking out your window saying hey it is not too bad here. We are in the midst of it, the storm only going to intensify, ocean sit, certainly getting the brunt of this storm with the winds picking up. You see the flag flying there. So we want to see whats going on in your neighborhood. Wildwood, good morning to you. Going through much of the same. Dont forget to use hashtag fox29snow. Take some pictures, of course be safe, and video as well if you can to share what youre going ,000 in america last year. We need to stand up and say enough. The only way this problem is going to be solved is if we raise our voices. Choose help over helplessness, hope over hopelessness. Make sure that the lives weve lost will not have been lost in vain. Addiction is a disease. When you ask for help, help is there for you. Huge gusts and games, so no matter where you are, getting a lot of snow or not, you certainly will be feeling the wicked winds, as well. Take it county by county. Rehoboth beach, good morning, what a difference an hour makes, of course, tracking it since 4 00 a. M. This morning. And as you can see, several more inches, added to what they already saw in the early hours, the storm system, still moving through, it is a significant storm, as you can see, all the way down from raleigh all the way to new york sit. I schuylkill frozen over. We have icy conditions there. They always warned, do not walk on. That you can see frozen water, but do not go out there, because warning you could still fall through. Weve had a lot of freezing temperatures below freezing frankly since last tuesday. So it has iced over. But it is still very dangerous. All right, lets get a check on the area roads this morning, depending on as we always say this morning, depending on where you are this morning, it is a different scene. But still, slick out there, bob kelly, good morning. Good morning from delaware, to south jersey to the poconos to here in center city. Even along route 309, here is a example, we dont have the wind at the moment. But, certainly, the snow continuing to come down again, the roads have been treated. Im ready for some that far french toast that we all got the milk, bread and eggs for, right. Pro tip giant has great prices on produce. Raspberries for john. Strawberries for amy. Whats a jicama . Thanks amazing produce prices. Only at giant. Welcome back, taking a look at cape may, new jersey, you can see the snow piling up. You have the suv thats down in the bottom righthand corner, and the snow just keeps getting higher and higher. Weve been talking about this noreaster, all the way down south. You may be saying my gosh, going through it leer, tallahassee florida dealing with little over an inch there, not used to seeing snow, in fact, they havent seen snow down there in 28 years. Of course we saw that noreaster creeping up the east coast, and this morning, it has arrived. Oh, wow. This is l an ex andrea, virginia, just meant seaning the south, the reporter was outside, hopped outside of the vehicle, live look out there, as theyre getting the full brunt of this. And we certainly are down the shore, as well. State and local agent sits, theyve canceled telling people to stay home this morning, as they try to clear the 40 plus miles of sidewalks, and the streets there, so, alex andre, a theyre going to see the snow start to taper off about 11 00, 12 00 this morning, but of course the system moving through, sue, what we are dealing with right now. You were mentioning other places, have you ever been to charleston, South Carolina . 6 inches of snow on the ground, there they never see snow, hardly ever. Thats a lot. Six to 10 inches along the blizzards warning areas, four to six, in the suburbs, two to four north and west, even less as you get to the Higher Elevations cents in the pocono mountains, so, we have our storm, that is throwing all of this snow on shore, and seeing some of the bands of heavier snow even moving to the west, but heaviest continues to fall along the jersey shore, cape may county, seeing it fall pretty heavily right now. There is a band, just west of egg harbor. We will hit few more neighborhoods here, lower merion, little lighter there, along one err darby Delaware County, cherry hill moderate snowfall there wish edge out towards lebanon, lil rounds up for this morning, as we look at the fight your cast, still calling for this thing to end from west to east, after lunchtime, probably, between 3 00 and 4 00 see completely clear the coast. So, we have a long way to go between now and then. Weve been watching the storm for up, so yesterday, it started to form, mike masco is with us outside this morning, where you are getting hit by the snowflakes, but where is the center of this noreaster right now . The center, sue, actually couple of hundred miles off shore. Now still awaiting it to move toward the north. If we take a look, right now, first off, i just want to show you whats going on right now in center city. Actually old city just outside the studio doors. And, we got the snow falling. But there is the center, there is the roads, and you can see, buses are moving along pretty well. But i want to go back over to radar. This is what i want to show you, and sues question, where is the center of the storm . About 280 miles due south and east of Atlantic City. Now, the deal with this storm was we had been advertising a storm, that would probably passover 300 miles to the south and east of us, what happened . It moved closer ashore, thats why we are seeing the snow bands reaching as far west as our outer suburbs over the lehigh valley. And thats really going to be the deal, Going Forward for the afternoon hours. Watch how the win chill values dip. Polar air coming back in, pouring down the pike. 14 Miles Per Hour tonight in the poconos, tomorrow, rare windchill warning being activated for our outer suburbs, friday, feels like minus 30 in the poconos. We will talk about it, but we have to get through the blizzard conditions, blizzard warnings of course issued for the jersey shore through the afternoon hours. Bob kelly, over to you. Mike you got the hat on, i can tell thats a sign it is colder out there, 6 18. Behind me, live look at this guards earn state parkway. Look at the wind blown snow, quick quickly covering the parkway, plow train go through here few moments ago. But to give you an example what theyre dealing with down the shore, parkway near avalon. 295 southbound closed right near the delaware Memorial Bridge because of overnight tractortrailer, accident and fire, use 322 to get over to the turnpike, turnpike itself, they have speed restrictions in play. Here is a live look at the plow trains, going through dover, again, snow covered quickly, becoming snow covered. Even right after those plow trains kind of roll through. This is an accident south on 309. Right near norristown. And as you can see, even though they put the brine down, even though they had a plow train come through, the wind blowing the snow back on to the road surface, philly international, be ready for concellations, do not head to the airport unless you check ahead. Some flights didnt even come in, last night, so that plane is not there ready to take you back out this morning. New jersey transit, patco, running on regular and snow schedules, and for septa, lets go to the headquarters. Heather redfern on the phone with us, good morning. Good morning, bob. Whats the system status right now . Do we have any problems at small. No, we are good, running regular weekday schedule, everything regional rail, broad street line, trolleys, norristown highspeed line, are all on or close to schedule. We have four bus routes on weatherrelated details. Some of the roads that traditionally have issues, so the 18, the 27, the 103, and the g, are all on weatherrelated detours, and we suspended service on the route 35. And that runs in roxborough, manayunk, with all and it kind of comes with the territory. Not used to the snow. But i think we talked yesterday. Something different for this storm, afraid that the frozen power lines above could get pulled down by the trains. So were reducing the speeds, is that correct . We put a speed restriction on regional rails, and the 101, 102 trolleys, when when there is extreme cold weather like weve been having. And that is so that, you know, we have wire issues, or even issues with the track in these conditions. So the trains will be going little slower. Trolleys will be going little slower. But thats all for safety. Good. And of course obviously, be careful on the platforms, and the stems. Heather redfern from septa, thank you always as checking in, passalong our thanks and well wishes to all of the drivers and train operators, and hope they have a safe day getting us where we got to go today. Bob, you told us to slow our roll. He want to see what that looks like coming up in just a little bit. Whats a slow roll look like . Oh, hes doing it. Youre going to want to see this coming up after the break. First, wildwood, new jersey, i know down right brutal out, there as the winds continue to picky. All right, also, over to Delaware County where our jenn fred is right now, hey, jen . Good morning, guys. Okay, we are now in aston, Delaware County, and you see the roads . These are the main roads, still little bit of snow. Tell but the side roads after the break. This is live look, ocean city maryland, so many folks go down there, right below the delaware beaches, the next beach in line, ocean city, maryland, they have great long boardwalk there, and theyre getting slammed. Sue, our crew, just moment ago, driving around there. The Road Conditions are down right dreadful this morning. Theyre on the go once again, after pausing momentarily there at the hotel. Just checking it out. See if they had any roms. But as you look at the roads, yes, snow coming down, theyll be dealing with this for quite some time. Along with the winds. So we go from one roving vehicle to another roving vehicle. We have our own jenn fred in Delaware County, youre on whats the name of the road, jen . Theyre laughing for a reason. Were on butt lane in aston, pennsylvania. Okay . Ladies and gentlemen, there you go, im dying to talk to a third grade their works here. Or lives here, to see if they think it is as funny as we do. So check this out. This is, im going to say it again, butt lane, Delaware County. School district are probably going with the closures at this point. Because the roads are covered with snow, we talk about this earlier this morning, you know, the roads, last night, were about 21 degrees, so, when the roads are already frozen, just a little bit of snow, 1 inch, 2inch, 3 inches, it sticks, so that makes it more difficult to get up, and quite frankly more difficult for the School District to ignore, some district have gone with a two hour delay, because it does look like you can get the snow up. But, as you can see, you can tell the snow plow that is been through at least one time observe zero, obviously more work on the side roads, driving all around Delaware County. This is pretty much what youre seeing on all of the side roads. As you can see there is goes on for quite some time. So not like tiny little side road. It is a significant road. Again, reporting from butt lane. Did you ever in your career think you would be saying that, reporting live from thank you, jen. 6 26. All right, lets get a check of some of the other areas right now, that are also getting the snow. Sue serio . I was at it happens, i was at the as ten post offers, met a great viewer, nydia. Good morning, nydia. A lot more coming up. Out there in the middle of it, wondering how Ceasar Rodney is holding up in Rodney Square. Here is jenny joyce. Sue, little noisy here in Daylight Hours today. Starts to taper off, we think, for most of us around 3 00, 4 00 this afternoon at the very latest, sunset time at 4 50. Sue, little noisy here in Rodney Square. You can hear the snow blowers going across the street, look at how light this snow is. It blows easily, thats part of the problem, the winds really brushing the snow through the area, and live report coming up next. Iand i like these awardwinning cheddar puffs. First place. Both events . Booyah were an awards family. Youll like them both but love our price. Awardwinning organic cheddar puffs from aldi. Simply smarter shopping. Before we start, i just want to say if anyone still doesnt have fios, please stay out of the way so your lag doesnt get us all killed, ben. Whats so good about fios anyway . Uh. Currently, those conditions, you saw there, under a blizzard warning, along the shore, our crews, theyre tracking the very latest conditions in the first major winter storm of this year. So, we got our steve keeley there, jenny joyce and jenn fred, good morning to all of you, im karen hepp along with thomas drayton, thank you for joining us, and share your snow pictures, lets see whats happening in your backyards, love to see what youre seeing, thank you for sending in, use the hashtag today fox 29 snow. We would love to know your location, light dusting there, but of course the snow, still coming down. Wait. That sentiment what every par sent thinking. Just got done winter break. What do you mean there is a snow day. My kids went back for one day yesterday and off again . Hey, rick arrow, give me a call. I can tell when you each and every little liquor store opens, what time they open, grab that bottle of wine, about noon, when dealing with the little ones. There will be wine parties happening out there. All across the Delaware Valley. Sue serio, what are we dealing with . That and the comfort food, i think consumed in mass quantities today. Here it is, noreaster just off shorement you can see, closer to the center of the storm, even some lightning, havent seen any thunder snow yet. But seeing plenty of snow. Thats falling in our area this morning. And band of heavier snow along with it, so very rare one out every ten, your weather number today. Bus stop buddy, put little snowman here, i will tell you, it will be tough to make a snowman because of the wind. Try to maybe little later on after the snow ends, or tomorrow, good luck with that, because we have windchills in the single digit. And dont go outside. Think about doing that tomorrow because it will just be too cold. 24 degrees, but with 20mile per hour sustained winds it, feels like ten outside right now. Blizzard warnings, along the coast, winter storm warnings here in philadelphia. And the suburbs, then north and west of us, Winter Weather advisory for the different amount of accumulation, but all going to be dealing with snow and wind and no matter how much or how little we get, it is all going to blow and drift around. Wind even in the city could gust as high as 40 miles an hour. So that takes care of your forecast for today. Weekend is almost here. But then we have to deal with other weather issues, including, dangerous cold. We will talk about that in the seven day forecast, coming upment bob kelly . Take a look at this camera i have for you, sue. Down the shore, shore road, look at the wind. And then look at the street sign. Normally hangs down low. It i of sideways here. This is a great example of the height. Not just have the snow, but it is coming at you sideways here. And you can see, it blowing right back on to the road surface, and thats the challenge, that the road crews are seeing, and even our drivers, all of us headed out there now, the roads are cold enough, that saltbrine that could be underneath there, it is just a sheet of ice. So, were dealing with the high winds this morning, no matter where youre going, speed restrictions up and overall of the area bridges, just talked to the airport, there is over 100 concellations already this morning, some flights were canceled yesterday, and i want to caution that the airlines will not put their planes in the line of the storm. So that plane may not even have come in last night in order to be thereto take you out this morning, so, check the flit status with the airline. Airport open. Theyre always open. But theyre deicing for the planes that are going to be attempt to go take off. I dont know about you, but i wouldnt juan to be on that plane in high wind as we get ready to take off here at Philadelphia International airport. Here is a live look at 422, near 29. Accident scene, and again, we see the plow trains go through, and that quick the wind blows the snow right back on there. Mass transit is the way to go. New jersey transit, regular schedule, theyre cross honoring, patco on snow schedule, and amtrak, as well as dart, also, operating on modified snow schedule today. Karen and thomas back over to you. All right, thank you there, bob. Wow, look at what steve keeley is dealing with down there at the shore. Yes, steve . Well, were right hine the oval revel building, we started our day down here, wasnt so bad. Now, it is getting real bad. Visibility getting cut short. Theyve got s traffic lights on bling. It looks like they expected to have the power go out, because they have the temporary stop signs, and the fact that theyre still upright tells you, the winds is not as bad as we have seen in the past when that stuff, like all every those temporary stop signs are blown down, even though theyre way down pretty good. But, this is atlantic avenue here. And the plow going through here, because this wind keeps blowing the snow, as bob said, back on to the road surfaces, it doesnt matter, almost like theyre plowing for nothing, yes, they have to keep plowing. But, it is not just little coating of snow. Youve got at least four, five good inches of snow here, here comes one of the jitney buses Atlantic City known for. And somebody going out. So, mass transit is still trying to work. And get people around, people are still going to work here in Atlantic City, as and still getting by, you can see how slow going this jitney in, in his headlights, as hes coming toward us, snow blowing across his headlights. That jitney is going very slow. And that is a smart jitney driver. Because hes got oncoming vehicle coming his way, as well, they cant even see the road painted lines right now, so, here is a two way street. And two smart drivers taking it very easy, youre going to say well why are they smart, one guy, who knows people still have to do emergency first responds err work, and you can just tell the tracks that far jitney, how deep the snow is in the road, and im telling you, this is the main drag, north and south here in Atlantic City right behind the casinos, and it has been plowed a lot of times, it is just not doing any good. All right, so, we will get to the beach and the inlet section when we see you next, gave you a look whats going to be a sunrise that you probably will not see like we did yesterday. For sure. Boy, takes your breath away when you try gust. I wish i could say it will get easier and better, but steve as we talk about 50 plus mile per hour winds, we will check back with you in just a moment. We check on the new jersey road scene right now. Going to go to new jersey, department of transportation, and steve, thank you, steve shapiro, thank you for joining us. Good morning, how are you doing. Doing well. I know it has been very busy 24 hours, what are you dealing with at this hour . Well, weve got about 1500 plows, spreaders, active statewide, mostly in south and central jersey, as you know, it is snowing much more down the shore than the interior areas, but definitely moving west, conditions are really challenging out there with the win blowing snow around, like steve was saying. As our crews, keep the roads clear, we definitely need the help with the public, stay off the roads if you can, if you have to be out, there definitely slow down, you know, give those crews plenty of room to work to get those roads cleared for you. We are looking at some heavy volume some of the pictures were looking at, certainly much slower. Do you have any areas where there is concerns about icing, looking at 42 right now, but where you have any danger zones right now . There is no areas of concerns, obviously, along the shore lines, thats for the snow coming down, and the winds are greater out there. So the visibility is real a challenge. So, you know, thats something that if youre in those areas, definitely be real cautious. But a storm like this, conditions can change quickly. So it is really important that, you know, if beam can stay home, best thing to do, but if they do have to be out on the road, slow down, lever plenty of space between you and other vehicles. Yes. It will be challenging out there today. Always the best to stay home. Real quick here, i know youre tight on time, got to get going here, as we deal with the morning commute looking ahead to the next 12 hours, dealing with the ice and winds, what are your crews up against . We dont stay well after the snow symptoms. We continue getting the roads clear. You know, we focus on the travel lanes first, after the storm we work on the shoulders. But with these windy conditions, blowing the snow back on the roads, folks really need to look out for icing conditions, you know, we will be out there, continuously, treating the roads, you know, doing our best to keep that ice clear from the roads. So it is safer when were out there. Cant say it enough. Take it easy. Steve shapiro shapiro, you and your crews be safe. Thank you. Hop over to delaware, take a look at conditions right in the center of, wow, thats our picture from wilmington, delaware, looks so different with all of the snow coming down and the white. Right to Rodney Square and jenny joyce in the heart of it all, hi, jenny. Reporter good morning, karen, so little bit hard to see with the snow coming down, as i said all morning, it has been windy, coming down sideways, picking up little bit. Sue serio was asking how Ceasar Rodney was doing. So chris, if we can pan over and show that statue of him here in Rodney Square. Hes faring quite well actually. Not too much snow on top of him. Really, because if you look down, here, we have a couple of inches easily but very spotty, because of the winds. Real now snow on the ground at all, in the last half hour we saw more people out here, more people at the bus stop, trying to catch their busses, trying to go to work, and i talk to a woman who you may have pick up on, she was not thrilled to be talking with me live on tv in the middle of this snowstorm. And she walked by after that hit and we found out that her School District brandywine had since closed. And she had a huge smile on her face. So that was good news. Brandywine closed. Christina School District now closed initially they were on two hour delay. So theyre monitoring the conditions not stopping any time soon. Everyone erring on the side of caution. Back to you. Thats what they should be doing, thank you, jenny. Appreciate that. 64 00; lets head out to jen now, driving out and b a lot of people are asking, jen, perhaps you can answer this, you and mike, dealing with the light fluffy snow here. Does it make it easier or harder when it comes to driving on the roadways . Well, you know, the light fluffy snow as youre about to see is stuck on the road. So weve been talking about this, because the roads were so cold, it is all sticking, not easy at all to drive in. We are in parkside Delaware County and we will be back right after the break. ,000 in america last year. We need to stand up and say enough. The only way this problem is going to be solved is if we raise our voices. Choose help over helplessness, hope over hopelessness. Make sure that the lives weve lost will not have been lost in vain. Its just a cough. Youd see how often you cough all day. And so would everyone else. Robitussin delivers fast, powerful relief to fight your cough in 12 hour shifts. Robitussin 12 hour cough relief, because its never just a cough. Snow lightly falling, there, but there is every single area in our whole greater Delaware Valley where there is snow falling. One rule this morning, do not second guess sue serio. She is right on target this morning. This is the betsy ross, right . That were going across right now . You can see, the good thing going across the area bridges, and i want to cross the commodore barry, first, i thought it was snow, but the amount of salt that they put down, prepping for the storm, was incredible. So hopefully that will help out this morning. Looking live at the roads this morning, were out and about, all over from delaware, new jersey, pennsyvania, we will get a check with our crews in just an employment, but first bob is here to update us. Bob, good morning. Our cameraman george roach in behind the wheel there. So not only do we have our 300 jam cams, we have all of our workers, our camera guys, got the dash, their dash cams working, and sent them back the video to us on their way to work on on the way to the next story. All of the bridges like the betsy ross we just saw and the bring here, all with speed restrictions, down to 35, youre right, they dumped ton of salt because, again, those bridges, that wind just gets whipping around, and thats how the bridges, you see the signs that always say bridge freezes before road surface, here is a live look at route 100, annex ample what were dealing with here again, they got the brine down, the salt down, but that quickly the snow is just blowing back on to the road surface, as you roll through Chester County, hello to the gang down the shore. Route 50, snow covered, looking at the garden state parkway just outside of ocean sit, mass transit, new jersey transit, crosshonoring, patco, running with a snow schedule, and everybodys going to be slower than normal, make sure youre bundle up if youre going to venture on out there to use mass transit. Everything is running, the only bus thats been canceled is the 35 bus through manayunk, amtrak running on modified schedule, dart, theyre running their buses, but expect delays. Philadelphia International Airport theyre deicing the planes right now, so thats naturally going to add about 15 minutes to every flight. There has been over 100 concellations cents this morning. Check with the flight, check your flight status with the airline, before you put those bags in the trunk. Sue has got the forecast in 15 seconds. Kay may county 4 inches every snow, Galloway Township 3 inches, place landing, two shall barbie, in delaware couldnt, has about an inch of snow on the ground, at the moment. And it is piling up. We expect six to 10 inches or more, and thats key, in the blizzard warning places, four to 6 inches, or more, depending on where these snow bands set up. Even north and west of the city, we could see higher snowfall totals than the range, because of these bands every snow, as we said, weve been seeing them on radar all morning long, so where you see the darker blue, almost purple, where it is snowing heaviest in the areas where we have the blizzard warning, but even as far west as williamsport, state college, harrisburg, getting little bit of snow this morning from this coastal storm. And of course, the usual places in cape may county, that weve been predicting, but whats happening right now, mike masco is outside, is that the center of the storm is parallel to us, and so, with that closeness, really seeing the worse that were going to get right now. Yes, thats right on, sue. So this has been a storm thats been evolving for the lasts six to ten hours, i mean, we thought it would start snowing . Charleston, now we deal with it all afternoon long. Into the maps. I want to bring you, take a look at this storm. First things first. You know, we havent been talking much about this. But there is a major concern about these cold temperatures. A rare windchill warning has been issued up toward our outer suburbs, whats this mean . By late, later today, into the weekend it, will feel like it is ten to 25 degrees below zero. Brr. This will be a nasty cold blast that comes down and were going to have to deal with this for several days to come. So it is all about post storm impact. Look, there is going to be a screaming wind that develops through the course of the morning hours, we could see gusts around 50 Miles Per Hour. Whats that mean though . Down the shore, we could be talking about some isolated to scattered power outages. But the big headline Going Forward, of course, is the blizzard warning, across the shore point. And then we turn our attentions to some really harsh temperatures. Fact could challenge some very, very old records. And im thinking probably saturday morning, where we could go down to say 4 degrees, 5 degrees, here in philadelphia, negative numbers, up toward the north and the west. You are going to have to hud and huddle and cuddle the next couple of days. We talk about the 12 punch, mike, we say the snow wasnt too bad, then the winds have to move in and dealing with bitterly cold temperatures. I like the huddle and cuddle. Maybe we have to have some huddle and cuddle. Hikes jen. Yes, 50 00, lets mover on. Jenn fred . Hi, guys. We are on the Delaware County, Chester County border. Parkside is one of the towns thats right around here. And one of the reasons why were here is we want to show you the roads. Check this out. As you can see, this is not exactly like route one, one of the main roads around Delaware County. But certainly is not a side road either. Like weve been talking about all morning long, even though there isnt six or 10 inches every snow, the snow that is on the roads is not going anywhere. And as you can see, as people kind of come around turns, and try to make their way even up the slightest amount of a hill, if you dont have a four wheel drive, if you dont have great traction, youre not going to be able to work out so well probably one of the bigger reasons why a lot of the School District, day cares, other place that is open super early in the morning have either delayed starts this morning, or theyve canceled the day altogether. So, this is Delaware County, Chester County, border, you need to tell us on twitter where you want us to go. I know thats an open ended question. Specially because were a little sill think morning. You cant go up. You cant go down. You can only go forward, i guess. Or ya. Thank you,. You know what i am sailing, my friends. Karen, dont tell me where to go. Dont tell me where to go. Ill finds my own way. There go. We love you guys. See you in a moment. Stay safe. Lets take another look at some of your viewer video, show us your towns, thank you for sending this viewer video in, west depford township. So you can show us what it is like, and oh, wow, look at the blowing snow right there. Even still picture are fine, too, use the hashtag fox29snow. Keep them coming. Coming right back. ] small business, internet providers promise you a lot. Lets see who delivers more. Comcast business offers fast gigspeeds across our network. Verizon doesnt. We offer more complete reliability with up to 8 hours of 4g Wireless Network backup. Verizon, no way. We offer 35 voice features and solutions that grow with your business. Verizon, not so much. Get internet on our gigspeed network and add voice and tv for 34. 90 more per month. Call 18005016000. Delaware at Rodney Square. You can see, visibility, not great. The snow continuing to fall, these tiny little snowflakes, but look, theyre accumulating. Here is one of the main roads, which was clear, a little while ago. And now, slowly, this snow is really accumulating, sticking to the streets here, you can see, the wilmington city because, passing us by, the buses are still operating, but you can expect some delays out here. Weve seen people out here, no longer have to go to work, school closures, offices closing as these conditions worsen. So a cold morning, out here very windy the snow continues to fall. Karen, thomas . Back here in the studio taking a look at radar, jenny. We can see the snow on radar what we cant see are the winds, you can feel it outside. Worse of the storm all along with coastal storm will be along the coast, and in Atlantic City feeling 36mile per hour wind gusts, i just check, steve keeley. Likely i they came out of nowhere, sir how many of em . We dont know. Dozens. All right lets teach these freaks some manners good luck out there, captain thanks but i dont need luck, i have skills. I dont have my keys. on intercom all hands. We are looking for the captains keys again. They are on a silver carabiner. Oh, this is bad. As long as people misplace their keys, you can count on geico saving folks money. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance. It is called the bomb cyclone, beating down on the delaware val. I notorious for blowing. Looks like Winter Wonder lands. Freezing temperatures, slick roads, high winds, and hundreds every schoolsings across every county. It is a little surreal. It is amazing. This massive storm, showing, no mercy, especially down the shore. The mess youre waking to up right now. Look at the snowy scene, all over our Delaware Valley. Everywhere you look, you see some casino every snow coming down, in some places, very, very heavy, and very, very wind. I what a mess it is. Great to have you with us this thursday morning, just now, 7 00. Here in about 302nd, dealing with four different sections here, depending on where you are, i know waking up this morning, looking out the window am i going to get the one to two, two to four, four to six, six to ten . Looking at the latest condition the roadways, we see the storm, looking at the radar and it is so massive, seems like such massive amount of moisture but dealing with flurry light snow . With the snow coming in it is fluffy makes it easy to shovel. The problem is the winds could ruin your shoveling job. Minutes after you shovel, the wind very high right now, and getting higher. You can see, that the edge of this storm, the back edge, is as far west as central pennsylvania. Looking at ultimate Doppler Radar little more in depth into that in just a few moments, but at this hour, every day, we gave you a number, and it is very rare one out of ten today with bus stop buddy with the obvious, it is snowing. We have some windchills that are in the Single Digits this morning. We are higher gusts out there this morning, as women, blizzards warnings, winter storm warnings Winter Weather advisory out, there and High Temperature not different really from where we are right now. But it is not going to feel like 26 degrees blowing and drifting
@type":"Organization
archive.org
@type":"ImageObject
800
600
//ia903402.us.archive.org/16/items/WTXF_20180104_110000_Good_Day_Philadelphia_at_6A/WTXF_20180104_110000_Good_Day_Philadelphia_at_6A.thumbs/WTXF_20180104_110000_Good_Day_Philadelphia_at_6A_000001.jpg
@type":"Organization
