The decision to hold marvin and Maurice Roberts for trial was more or less a for gone conclusion but friends and neighbors of the murder victim came to court any way. To show their support for the block captain and activist they called the mayor of melon stre street. He was a great, great man. It should not have happened to jerry grandzol. Reporter 38yearold jerry grandzol was gunned down in front of his home on the 1500 block of mel on the night of september 7th. Police say he had just park his suv with his twoyearold daughter violet in the back seat when the roberts brother as proved an nouned they wanted his wallet and his car. Within seconds, grandzol lay on the street dying of gunshot wounds to the head. Security cameras lined that block one of which produced highquality video and sound of the incident. Didnt get along with the other dogs and look at him now. Hes a great dog that can walk without a leash. Some of the dogs come here and you figure theyre incorrigible. But after a few weeks with us, they turn into nice dogs. They arrive one way, they leave another ready for their new life.
