push the wedding back? >> the wedding should be saturday. you can make a wedding in both places. it is possible to do it. it is not easy but possible zero do it because he get the parade in the morning, hops a plane, and gets there. >> the reason the debate, because they're not saying it is possible, right? >> well -- >> otherwise why are we talking about it? >> because he can make both. >> maybe dinner or something? miss some of the events the night before. usually people have weddings saturday. i don't know. >> she want him there. >> today. >> yes. >> because the rehearsal dinner all of that. >> and he was traded to the team. not like he knew from the outset. but when you're a professional athlete you. >> contribute today it, were you on the mounds, did you what you had to do. they show video of him holding it up. you still won t not like he was sitting on the side lines. >> because they got him, certainly helped big time, to win the thing. so karen address it a little bit, probably saying to yourself, why in the heck would they plan a wedding right at the end of baseball season in case this happened? because he was with the detroit tigers in august, and they weren't going to win it. so they go in ahead, we're not going to be in a world series. >> oh, nothing but time. >> then get traded, and then goes to seven games. which also complicates it, because had they won it in four, or five, or six, this would not be an issue. >> but i've known people generally, you may know them too, work for a team that worked for the phillies, nobody, it is a bad jinx. nobody plans anything in the off -- like in in this time period, i've friends work for the organization, no way, no way attend or make commitment for something every significance when could you go into september, october, you know, post-season baseball. >> well, ya. >> even wishfully thinking. it is just bad luck to do it. >> they've phone for a year. >> you're a professional athlete. >> i don't remember the records of the detroit tigers. >> in contention, it was possible, could have been con receiver job here is the problem. when you're fiancee is kate upton, guys, that is a big weighing factor. whatever kate wants, i'm doing. okay? >> even though you're missing the parade? >> ya, because i'm pat it glike we'll see what happens. >> if they ever get divorced, what's he going to say. >> and i missed my wor series parade because of you. >> because of you. you. all right, let's get into oprah. she announced it yesterday, we have a friends, friends named alicia corrales, she a reporter, went to the party last night. >> oh, fun. >> and you notice the reporters, you're telling me, the reporters sometimes get the gifts from oprah. >> yes, there were so many gifts, they had to hire men, they were in tuxes, hope would you bring it to your car. >> oh,. >> yes, because oh, gifts a bound. anyway, should we get into what she gave away. >> let's reminisce. remember the oprah show still happening. you know, always a surprise, the audience talking about, you know, random subjects, and then all the sudden she would just say surprise, it is oprah's favorite things. they would freak out. >> okay. >> so how about we meditate on this? (bells ringing). >> (cheers and applause). >> this is always the best episode to watch. one of the best, there are so many. but you see them jump up and down, freaking out, look, fainting, oh, and you wish, were you like oh, i wish i was part of the audience. even though every year these are the great reasons some of these are teachers, some been through a lot, so they deserve all of the free stuff. >> are you telling me when you go in the audience you didn't know it was give away day. >> you had no idea. >> because she know, if you knew, you got a ticket, like you would try to get that. >> yes. >> so make it a surprise so know one no, sir. and usually it is for people deserving or something happened in their lives. >> what a great bit. so she is continuing it? >> yes, but releases as she did then a list, you can see for yourself, what are some of the things she likes, for your friends or loved ones. this year's list is the longest ever, i think like 20 years or some big anniversary of the things. there is 102 items. can you believe that? so if you bought everything on this list, all 102 items, because what oprah says is gold, then would you spend more than $14,000. >> well -- >> so. >> should we go through the list. >> who has so much money we decided to go through some of the things, figure out what are some of the most interest items. >> 102. >> so there is a lost and found orbit card. so you know a lot of times you might lose your card, oh, where is my credit cards, i think i lost it? well, for $40 there is will track your wallet when you lose it. that way it is like a little signal will go off. >> oh, my god. >> you can look on your phone oh, i left it herement. >> i love that. >> uh-huh. >> give me another one. how about this? >> oh, look at that. what the -- snerk twin size due vai sets? >> yes. like for your little ones, so they can look like a princess, astronaut, while they lounge or get cozy. $119. >> imagine that on a couch? your little kid gets in, there looks like mermaid like jenny joyce could slip into that right now and look like a mermaid is it. i really like that. >> one the $9 automatic dog toy, the go bone. >> i want that. >> i'm not sure. >> you don't have to throw it, it goes by itself. >> i think so. >> it is remote control. see the little thing on the left? so you don't have to leave your couch to retrieve the thing if the dog doesn't go after it. that's total laziness. >> at these you know they say like the coats you get, down coats. >> puff is? >> yes, now get that but in a scarf. look at the different colors here, that's got to be warm. >> i want those. i like the it threads through, stays on. >> perfect. >> like your north fac lik >> eight a dollars. >> then what about a double hammock. >> now, you know why i like this? because they run that seattle commercial a lot, right? >> oh, would you. >> what's wrong with you? >> you love the commercial. >> i think the seaalis commercial is stupid. because this guy has been trying to get with this woman, right, for a long time. and he hasn't been able to, you know? get up in the hammock, whatever, you know? >> uh-huh. >> so, it is so ridiculous, he finally gets the medication that allows him to be with this woman, right, and they ends up in separate cold water tubs. looking out over the sunset. get in the same tub. >> maybe there is not enough room for both of them in the same tub? >> how about get out of the tubs and get together? anyway, i think this, you know the water is cold. look at them. does in a look comfortable to you? he's been waiting for month to get this medication. >> they're tubs, not chairs? ya, see? >> please? thank you. >> tubs. they had to go out, there they're naked, how did they get out there? where are their clothes. >> i think it is kind of cool though. you got your own tub, i got mine. still close. don't have to worry about space like your shoulder is in my back, no, i have all of the shultzer. >> what do you mean your shoulders are in my back. >> you know when you try to cuddle with someone, awkward, the way they put your arm around you, it never really works outright because either your shoulders up like this, and you can't lean back all the way. it is not real that i comfortable. >> you just happen to be the person -- >> you're the one -- you're not the one leaning back. >> true. >> so you don't know how we're like oh, this is great. >> anyway, they look cold. so let's put them in hammocks. >> they'll still be cold though if it is cold -- >> at least you're not sitting in water. >> that's going to be a lot better. >> i thought your issue was they went in the same hammock together. they're still in separate areas. >> just be in one hammock. >> over at spruce street park, there is a big hammock, you can both get in it. >> i've been to the park, i've seen some activity happening in the hammock. >> that's why i never get in those hammocks. oh, he's here, our new manager, dave kepler is here. here press yesterday putting on the new jersey. >> da, da, da. >> or not. >> here he is. >> welcome. >> thank you so much. nice to meet you. great to see you. >> it is so great to have you here. likewise, man, i couldn't be happier, more excited to be in philly right now. >> how did we pull you away from a worlds series team in the los angeles dodgers? >> oh, i think the city is a pretty big draw in philadelphia phillies are pretty special, franchise, and i couldn't be more like thrilled and fired up to be around here right now. there is a lot of exciting things going on for the phillies, obviously, a young roster with a lot of resources. >> yes? >> our ownership group is tremendous, our front office is prepared. but there is a lot of reasons to be excited to come to philadelphia. >> how did it feel to put on that jersey yesterday in front of the cameras, making it official. >> it felt like a dream come true, like pulling that phillies hat down, and i like to pull it down nice and low, i knew that that p was on top of my head. i felt really really proud. i was thinking about my son, dane, and i wore number 22 for him. and there young man wears 22 on his football team. he is a tail back. >> oh,. >> so the main reason i wore 22 is to sort of give him a shout out. so i new he was watching. obviously that made me feel real proud. i feel strongly that was the right move for him. >> how old is dane? of two kids. >> sixteen year old is dane, he turned 16 today actually. >> happy birthday, dane. if you are watching. >> thank you, yes. >> it is her birthday, too. >> oh, wow. >> i will never forget dane's birthday. >> no question. >> she likes to name her sons, she has named her sons after athletes. >> automatically, yes, maclin is done. jeremy maclin. >> which one is dane. >> dane is the little guy. i shouldn't even say little any more, that was a full year ago. he's getting bigger now. >> and who is the young man from one direction? >> that's chase. he's strong. so this is a long, long time ago. but we were on a hike with our dog fooz up in the mountains outside of our house. it is spectacular. >> you're southern california guy? >> i am, born and raised just outside of los angeles about 20 minute from downtown la. >> i know you played in some teams that have been in cold weather. but are you going to miss the la like sunny necessary, ah, i mean, it is nice today. >> i'm a sensory experience culture kinds of guy. so i love malibu and everything it has to offer, but the cities in the northeast have always made me tick, and in particular philadelphia does it for me. so i mean boston, as well. new york, as well. but philly is kinds of special. i'm interested in the history of the sit. >> i oh, there is a ton. you know birth place of america. >> did you take dane to see the liberty bell. >> i love that idea. >> couple of blocks it, has a big crack in it, though, very weirds. >> that's unfortunate. >> i keep saying, fix it. you have a son named chase? >> yes, chase is my 18 year old, and he's just starting to apply to colleges. >> you just work with chase, our chase, chase utley. >> oh, my gosh, like this is a guy that i think is an incredible leader. everything he does is with a purpose, and an incredible level of intensity, one of the things that we have talked about is being like chase utley, right, like the philadelphia phillies team, in 2018, will perform and play like chase utley. >> this is why, if i was a philly, i would be scared of you. >> why? >> you seem like you are going to demand not only energy, but real physical fitness. >> look at yourself. >> well, i don't know how to respond to that other than to say, there is no demands. there is certain education, right? like so we're going to educate our men on how to be the strongest version of themselves. but then it is up to them. >> and then if you're -- they're not getting there right away, we'll come back the next day, again, be relentless about trying to turn the dial up just a little bit. >> i don't want to scare you or anything, but -- >> i'm already scared before you say anything at this point. >> you're now my screen safer. >> you're the role model. >> somebody is calling into me, so just, megan, put up the one you had with a white -- >> oh, it is all of the girls of the delaware val. >> i who is this guy? >> what's the screen saver? >> that's my screen safer now. >> this was the surprise for the morning? >> because that's inspirational to me when i look at the phone now. >> right. >> isn't that kinds of the iodide to inspire your own players by being fit? >> i guess to some degree. i mean, i've always been inspired by being healthy and strong, right, like so people are attracted to different things and for me, as a baseball player, i wanted to be in my best physical condition. then as a leader, you know, one of the ways we can demonstrate what we want from our athletes is to model the behavior. so, certainly, that wasn't my intention, several years ago, when i was taking these pictures, but turns out that it might be valuable to some degree. >> what's your daily routine? i mean, is this -- is that more diet or pump? >> i think a combination every both. i don't have any specific regimen that i have to follow, or but dow like to get outside, sometimes it is a walk. sometimes it is a swim. you know, sometimes it is picking up really heavy weights, or maybe just a combination every all of those things. >> he makes it sounds so east. >> i sure. >> go for a walk, i'll help out. >> what's that? >> you have a cocktail now and then, too you don't swear off alcohol, do you? >> oh, no, like i said, getting back to the sensory experience, point that i made earlier, i really enjoy scotch. >> and you work out? >> sometimes, after you had some scotch, right? no? >> i don't try to combine the two, but maybe good meal, good meal at night, maybe scotch accompanying a steak, i'm in there. and that's a really happy day for me. >> oh, here is the thing. how in the world do you get those kind of abs? >> he want to be you. >> i want to be you. how? >> er. >> i think in part it is genetic. so my dad is, you know, he is an older man at this point, but he's also very lean, and he always has been, and i remember looking at him and seeing how thin his skin was on top of his muscle. and so i just in some ways just was lucky that i had those genetics. and in addition, i have worked fairly hard. i don't want to take away, or take that away. for a really long time. i started exercising and weight training when i was 17 years old. and i'm 42. so i've been doing it my whole life. i haven't taken whole lot of time off. >> is that you? >> that's me as a boy. >> oh, i love it. >> but i think it is really neat you came here, it is about your philosophy, the way you think about stuff. you said something like i wish allman jester would think becomes you shouldn't have something like this is the way we always do it, here's what we believe. >> right. >> it is about everything should be flexible, you should blow it up, you should be nimble for your thinking. think that's neat. >> i love. that will really insight full. totally agree. one of the things we do, we'll put out options for our players, but won't force feed them anything, right? we never say like you have to eat this. we never say you have to train this way. we will be like here are some really beautiful healthy fuel for your body. it is up to you. but then we come back and have that same conversation over and over, so the message begins to lands. i think over the course of time, that's a real healthy way to approach t just like, you know, just my 18 year olan 16 year old. we can't tell them what to do. but we can model the behavior for them, give them really good options to make good choices. >> so, good to have you here. >> so nice. >> nice to meet you. >> nice to meet you. >> we're so excited for this season, and it will be so -- one of the best jewish museums around the corner. >> cool. >> you're not in there already as one of our greatest athletes, are you. >> i highly doubt. that will i wasn't a very good athlete. >> you played all of these teams,. >> museums are for really good players. >> all right, we have to hook up on that one. >> sounds good. >> one every his nicknames, back in the day, was, what? >> hebrew hammer. >> the hebrew hammer. >> that's a very uncomfortable nickname. for a plethera of reasons, yes. i think there has actually been a lot of jewish athletes over the years that have carried that nickname. so, but cool. >> and good company. >> in good company. >> good luck to you. we'll be at the home opener for sure. and the rest of the season. did i just mention one direction a little while ago. >> you did. >> did you hear about zayn?
