You bet. A local organization all about giving city kids a taste of the Great Outdoors and today our Bill Anderson went out to see how its helping them find new passions and other ways to challenge themselves for goodness sake. A lot of the students come from a violent environment, um, they keep their shield up. Reporter its pretty universally septembered that things you experience first hand have a direct impact on your growth, learning and your development. I live in the hood, um, not everybody gets the chance to come out here top stuff like this. Reporter unfortunately, too many young people particularly those from inter cities rarely experience much outside of their community, their neighborhood or certainly theyre city. In a nutshell thats the point of Outward Bound. These challenges students out of their comfort zone and in learning zone where they can grow route. Reporter for years Outward Bound has been taking young people on trips. Get to that spot youre pushing it go one step further. Reporter i spent the day with students from Sarah High School the transformation in front of my eyes was impressive some started off typical students. They were too cool to participate. I didnt like it at first. Reporter played few games to break down they are defense and get to know each other people. People to people. Reporter quick were ready to take on in my opinion the challenge of the day. Youre going to climb with with the rest of your Team Sporting you. Climb up this ladder get to the top of the latter. Physical part of the climb and jump was one thing. But watching inner steeples teens whom who are used to not opening up trust their classmates and challenge themselves that was amazing. Beat that. Alex was one of those kids who wanted nothing to do with the trip initially but not only climbing but doing it blindfolded, you can see the days impact. I got over my fear. The first time i went i was too scared to do it but then i jump. Then i saw it wasnt that hard of a thing to do. This outbound journey was only a day but the message was lasting. When we give them these challenges and these chances to like rise to an occasion, youll age see it. Theyve been proving it for years. Give our kids a challenge and they just might surprise us for goodness sake. Im Bill Anderson. So 76ers big man big time not happy right now. Kristen rodgers. Yeah, lucy, joel embiid isnt a fan of having a minute sixers are limiting joel embiidss time on the hard court as this season kicks off and hes not happy about it. Kristen rodgers says its a smart move. Her commentary in 15 seconds. Joel embiid is not happy about head coach brett brown restricting his minutes. He had a rather colorful response to it today. But heres the thing. His opinion doesnt really matter right now. Joel embiid should be seeing season and heres why. Most every athlete tell you theyre fine when they arent. These guys love their sport. They love to play it, they want to play it, of course, theyre going to say they feel good to go when they arent. You know who can tell you if a player is good to go . Doctors. I am not craze so for saying that brett brown should trust his doctors when they say be cautious with embiid especially when the guy is one of the most injury prone players in the nfba. I mean hes only played 31 games in thee seasons for a reason. So you can swear all you what happened, embiid, but you need to be healthy to be one of the best biggs in this league much the sixer are doing the right thing by keeping him off the floor to for a bit its the only way they can make sure he gets back in when they really need him. You know what im right there with you on that one. Okay. Up next tmo seem followed boy page sick at midnight and stay tuned for the q at 12 30 and the simpsons weve got kathy orr running over to the desk to join us right now. Hey, kathy.
