Through Community Activists and maryland take it Senate Candidate effort browning at least a half dozen parents at Charles Flowers High School in Prince Georges County say their daughters are being harassed, bull yid and hazed by cheerleading coaches at the school. The group selected browning to speak on their behalf because they dont want their daughters to be retaliated against, but they shared their stories with fox5. They also outlined the allegations in a sixpage letter to School Administration and Prince Georges County schools ceo dr. Kevin maxwell. In a letter, the parents speak of coaches calling their daughters profane names, not properly accounting for Cash Payments collected as program fees and physically haz ing the girls who were on the novice quheer team. Pushing some young ladies where theyre throwing up and physically sick and ill not to tell their parents about it because if they do theyre threatened to be thrown off the team. The girls write they are quote, treated are badly and that coaches, quote, would always curse. We took those allegations to School Spokesman john white. We always want to make sure that our staff and our kochs are treating children with the same respect that they would want to receive and so we take a the allegations seriously. We have gun to interview students as well as adults in the building to find out exactly what has occurred. But the district wouldnt say what theyve learned from the interviews. The parents want the coaches replaced, a full accounting of the fees theyve paid and a guaranty that their daughters can cheer and be protected. Its been going on for almost a year. Unfortunately when the parents decided to tan up again, the coaches decided to disband the team.
