one south. the cold may also have caused a pipe to burst inside kramer middle school in southeast d.c. crews are making repairs tonight , the pipe burst in the boiler room and flooded out the basement. the school did not have electricity or gas. students are due back from winlt er break tomplet the district hasn't said yet if the school will be open. we'll keep you posted. in baltimore another nasty water main break. thick layers of ice covered streets and cars. it could take a few days to clear the streets because of all the freezing temperatures. firefighters had to deal with the cold as they battled a town townhouse fire in bowie, maryland. flames broke out at the basement of the home on spanish oaks lane. it quickly spread before firefighters put it out. no word yet on a cause. new tonight a l could edge football player from maryland is now paralyzed after he was s new year's eve party. larry aaron is a sophomore at marshal university in west virginia. he grew up in howard county. the shooting happened early yesterday while he was home from school. fox # five's lindsay watts is live in h colombia with more. i'm told larry aaron's family has been living in the colombia area for decades. they are with him tonight at the hospital, but i've spoken to some family friends who are devastated. aaron is expected to recover from the shooting, but this star football player is now paralyzed from the waste down. the shooting happened early yesterday morning at a big new year's day house party in seven in anne arrundel. accord ing to a go fund me page set up by the family, aaron, who is 19 years old was struck in the back by a stray bullet fired by an unidentified party goer. it sounds like aaron was not the intended target and police say they are still trying to find that sheeter. a 17 year old boy was also shot and spoke to a family friend tonight who heard about this on the radio as he was driving home from work. he drove straight here to the aaron family home with tears in his eyes. he says he's known aaron since he was a child, seen how talented he is. thought that he was potentially nfl bound and then to find out what happened to him so sense lessly. this is a young man that has promise, goodwill to his family, grace people to god's earth and this has to happen. i'm just blown away, the violence. when does it stom marshal university's happened last november. fox5 was on the scene. we then spoke with neighbors who watched help leslie as the fire i be tense phis while two people inside desperately called for help. tonight you're going to hear from the real live heros. it's on fire. i see fire. i have the firefighters. i need you to stay on the phone with me. how many people are trapped inside the. >> it's a lady. she can't get out. at 5,000 calls a day, the prince george's county 911 ceer the country. i have calls that are still with me. i couldn't tell you about the rest of my day. on any given day some someone's life on the other end of the phonies on the line. it's very hard not knowing exactly what is going on. based on what someone is telling you, theer ' crying, screaming. he said don't go in. there is no room forkerror at all, none. there are two people trapped inside the home, a female in a wheelchair, they're trying to find the location and a male who is the second person inside the home. my issue a fair recorded trapped, correct. >> they went back in. they found him, they brought him out and i knew i did my job. but for these two women who took this tragic call last november there's a part of the job that's always a question mark, what happens after the call ends? i wonder if they made it. i knew they made it out of the house. i can't tell you how many times i've cried all the way home. the person calling 911 is r, it may be the worst day of their life and we have to understand that. but the bad thing is we never, ever get closure and that's very, very hard. these 911 call tears and dispatchers say these and unlike the first responders on the ground they rarely know how the call ends and oftentimes they leave work wondering if the victims they helped made it to see in another day. unfortunately in this fire the first responders did everything they could, but ultimately both the son and his mother died at the hospital. >> shawn. they have such a tough job. a maryland family is devastated and demanding answers after a metro police officer hit and killed their son as the 16 year old was crossing the street . derrick stanton was crossing the street yesterday when officer bawrt like oh hit him with his k9 unit truck. the officer was off duty and headed into work. according to maryland state police the teen may have walked into oncoming traffic directly into the path of that approaching patrol vehicle. the victim's mother says she has a hard time believing that. derek equal is a child that most of us look right and left, he left, right, left, before he crossed the street. i knew what they were saying wasn't true. authorities are now urging anyone who witnessed the accident to call maryland state police. a young girl is in critical condition after a car hit her this accused of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection with this case. virginia state police have now confirmed. now, the six have been identified as 36 year old dale king of off the coast really with new england in its sites. the development that storm will be pretty impressive tomorrow night . but it's a little far east and the development of the storm, the intensive it really happens as it gets closer to northern latitues. i wanted to show you widespread winter storm weather advisories, warnings and watches. even northern florida has to watch out for a combination of snow and ice tomorrow. maybe as early as the afternoon by the way. it includes all the coastal areas up to virginia beach where now the norfolk areas has winter storm warnings. and it includes the delmarva where the possibility of inches of snow could be the possibility wednesday night into thursday morning. a watch means it's possible. p if that gets changed to a warning it means it's expected. i would not be surprised saint maries, maybe if you go under a winter weather advisory as well. will d.c. get one? it depends if we can see the snow getting far enough west . i think that would be easier to see when the overnight models come in tomorrow as well here's our storm system that's going to be coming up. the blizzard conditions from boston all the way up through new england and into the canadian mare times. that may again amount to quite a nasty storm for new england, thats ' for sure. but then that storm grabs that artic air, pulse it right down and into our area and that is going to going to be even colder n air than we've been going through the last few days dangerous cold with wind chills anywhere from five to look at these models when we're righting to figure out what is going to happen. a quick look at the urine model which is not too excited about the thought of getting some snow in here during the day. it's literally two tefnts an inch for thursday morning in d.c. and only about an inch at the coast. that really doesn't see it. an american model came in the afternoon. it was a little bit more aggressive. we'll show you some of the totals. this is not what we're forecasting. we're showing you some of the predictions from the models. i would like to see a healthy two much ines for d.c. would have an effect on our commute. we think right along the coast it could be more, four to six. we'll certainly put our predictions together. right now i would say chance of flakes to maybe up to an east, d.c. on east the way things are looking right now. let's taw you quickly through the futurecast and i'm going do show you our futurecast not too bully issue on snow. it sure sees a to pound the boston area as mentioned. we have some single digits on
