A daring overnight water rescue in upper montgomery county. This happened in the town of boyds on west Old Baltimore road near Shiloh Church road. Police say a car crashed into the waters of 10mile creek three people had to be rescued. As you can imagine the creek water was very cold. Ems crews evaluated all three passengers. Thankfully, everyone was here at home, major problems though at a southeast middle school. Also blamed on the extreme cold. Water main break flooded Kramer Middle School overnight and also sparked a gas leak. Crews have been on the scene all morning long. They are still really in the thick of this here in terms of the amount of work that needs to be done to repair all of the damage caused by this cold weather. You can see weve got a little bit of idle right now getting ready to get back started again. The dc water crews im sorry the Washington Gas crease crews digging here in front of the school all night. If you thread the needle there in between the flagpole you can see the valves there. We had a gas leak that apparently was caused by all of the water in the basement so you see those basement level win windows. That is where the basement is and the boiler room and apparently a lot of water got into the part of the gas problem. What we understand several feet of water in the basement caused by a burst pipe. Initially we thought there may have been water main break because there is water main break across the street. I think mike we can probably see those dc water crews there across the street trying to get started on that particular water main break we were told was on 18 street between w and p. We thought initially that water main break had something to do with the water flooding the basement in the school. That was interior burst pipe something that d. C. Water had been reminding folks about that this could definitely be something that would happen in these very very cold temperatures. So a lot of work to be done here. Fortunately for the 193 degrees students that go to this middle school, today is the last day of winter break for them. But i got to tell you given what im told as far as the damage here, i just dont know yet whether they can count oncoming back to school whether d. C. Customs system outage affected airports across the country left hours as many were just trying to get home on new years day. This is all yesterday. Customs and Border Protection officers were forced to process arriving passengers using backup procedures at some airports. The outage is not believed to have been malicious in nature. Well stay with the flying scene here. We are learning new details this morning about one of the families that died in plane crash in costa rica over the weekend. The steinberg family that died in the crash once lived in the dc area. Bruce and Irene Steinberg and their three sons william, zachary and matthew died in the crash. About 15 years ago the family lived in north potomac. They were on board a single engine charter plane that crashed shortly after take off. Another family from florida along with an american tour guide and two crew members also died in the crash. No word yet though on what caused the plane to go down. With that being also was the safest flying year ever. Last year saw a huge increase in the number of people flying and a sharp decline in deadly plane crashes in 2017. Ten commercial passenger and cargo airplanes crashed with a total of 44 death. Thats better though than the fiveyear average of 17 crashes with nearly 500 deaths. I guess it is all about improvement. And finally this morning, new proof that time travel really is possible. I love this story. Hawaiian Airlines Flight has passengers leaving in the past after it took off in 2018 but landed in 2017. The flight was scheduled to depart new zealand before midnight on december 31st for honolulu but unexpected ten minute delay meant it took off at 12 0 off am on january 1st, 2018. Theres no confirmation as to why but he was it was still a dead person. He continued to film the video is online. It was it was taken down after having about 6 million views. Video youre seeing here is just an example of the type of videos he would post in the past prior to this moment. This is very controversial. And the idea of the question is, you know, going too far with this type of power that you h have. You have 15 million subscribers. Is this an appropriate thing to put on to your followers and the answer is obviously no. But it is very controversial. So the question is, you know, with this type of responsibility youre 22 years old. Why not call for help . Bell peppers red and yellow and carrots, you also have your broccoli. You can use salad dressing to dip that in. Possible to eat that without the big thing of ranch. No ranch but you can also utilize hummus. Hummus is one of my favorites. Right here what we have whole grain spa at the time tee pasta. We use turkey breasts and meatballs. You can have ground turkey, you can even have some type of flank steak any type lean protein that you want. All right. What do we have in the other. Lets go over to the other. So this is a very clean meal right here. Well start with get this out of the way. Give you some space to work w with. We got veggie overload right here. Here we go. We have roasted broccoli. What did you put thon when you roasted oil. Drizzle it on top. Season with my everything seasoning for 53 yes, meats and you put in there just hike that. Wednesday night thursday name frame a big coastal storm thats going to develop. Were going to be on the western edge of things but as it stands now, well be close enough that we can have period of snow around here, light snow overnight wednesday into thursday. Particularly if youre east of 95. So i know a lot of you are watching Southern Maryland and the lower Eastern Shore youve got the best chance of accumulating snow. And then were all whether you get the snow or not going to be dealing with another cold arctic blast just looking at some of the guidance here. Wind chills minus 20. This is directed by steal 15 spell berg based on popular novel by ernest klein. Essential idea behind this film is about young kid who goes into a Virtual Reality world called the oasis. The actual creator of the oasis passed away left a easter egg of some sort within the world for this kid to find and whoever finds it first will get a massive fortune. Spielberg has taken on this project on a book in my opinion that i dont und i know the visuals im seeing here. I know it looks really really cool there are things in this book that i still dont even understand how theyre going to bring to the big screen. Theres also some legal things im interested in. In the book they actually mention other movies. Film liesing like blade runner and war games are those going to inn corp. Those into this world even though its a different studio. That opens up mart 30th direct beside Steven Spielberg. You may have heard of him. I look at this i scratch my head because i wouldnt pay a nickel to see this. Thats fine wis. Not one nickel. I think its mandatory you take that flight if you live in los angeles. I feel so and having done that dylan, did you were you able to use any of that to bring into the show . Did you find colorful characters at least in real life . Yeah, i mean, the funny thing is, steve, any time that you fly its just its always something crazy happens. Its never smooth. So thats why i think this is such a great premise for the show. Because theres so much madness that happens. Maybe its the altitude. Im not quite sure. But theres so many Great Stories that happen certainly weve done 12 episodes now, and wove taken lot of that from real life. So, um, i think if you, f you really want to have a little laugh for yourself, which i think we all need by this time, then you got to watch la to vega i think some of the best parts of flying and maybe its just, i dont know, kim, maybe its just cope with fact youre flying youre stuck in confined space much the people watching in itself i think is the best part. Do you have any notable stories yourself from flying that kind of got into your mind when you were trying to film this to keep it as realistic as possible . Its so funny. When it comes to like stories on the plane like i can really only think of the one time that like a child put his foot on my arm rest and i didnt know what to do so im just grabbed hs foot and he freak out and pull it away. You know when youre acting you want to he really want to fall in love with your character because you have that freedom. Sometimes youll judge a character.
