Police are searching for three heavily armed men. Fox5s Melanie Alnwick is there, she joins us live with the latest. Mel, good morning. Reporter hey, good morning. A very scary moment for one person here in Montgomery County in the city of gaithersburg. This happened at the gaithersburg station apartments. We are not sure exactly where in this very large apartment complex it happened, but police tell us this was a secure building but apparently the victim had just gotten home from work. He was home, he got surprised by a knock at the door. He saw a man outside and thought he was in distress so he opened the door. The man and two others rushed into the apartment. They all had handguns demanded property. The victim gave them his wallet, laptop and cell phone. The suspects also stole a long gun and a handgun. Weav confirm right now what model of guns they are. Again, nobody was injured here but still very scary moments. Gaithersburg police gave us some descriptions of the suspects here. One is said to be a black male, 6 feet, 2inches tall with dark skin, short haircut an day old beard. The other is described as a hispanic male with what they called a chinstrap beard. We didnt have any information as far as the description of the third suspect other than to say he was wearing dark clothing. The vehicle a 20042006 police style White Ford Crown vic with tinted windows and a spotlight like one of those you would see on a police car or on a taxi, also new style maryland tags, those are the ones with that distinctive flag across the bottom of it. Now, again, as i told you, this was a secured apartment building, Gaithersburg Police are asking us just to remind you, remind everyone that its important to be aware of your surroundings. Dont let anybody into your house. Dont answer the door if you dont know who they are. You can always, if you believe that someone is in distress you can always call 911 for them. Again, not saying that the victim in this case did anything wrong, just putting out those reminders for everyone. In the meantime theres still a very active search for these heavily armed men. Pamela butler was a federal worker who vanished from her northwest d. C. Home in february of 2009. Earlier this year her boyfriend Jose Rodriguez cruz admitted to killing her. He agreed to tell detectives where he buried butler. A limited portion of the 95 express lanes in Stafford County will be closed at 10 oclock this morning while Virginia State and d. C. Police search for butlers remains in wooded areas along both sides of 95 and in the medians between the north and southbound evacuation orders are under way in san diego now that a raging wildfire is roaring westward and Officials Say it could reach the sea. 20 homes have already burned and now the fire is threatening the Camp Pendleton marine base. The santa ana winds have driven the flames over six and a half square miles of northern san diego county. Forecasts call for the gusty winds to continue for at least another day. Last night hundreds of people came to the Lincoln Memorial to remember the life of bijan ghaisar. U. S. Park police shot and killed him after he allegedly led them on a car chase that began in arlington and ended in fairfax county. His family claims the 25yearold was unarmed. The fbi is now investigating the case. Last night ghaisars sister spoke about her brother to the gathered crowd. He was everything to so many people. He was so full of life. Police say three people are dead including two students and a gunman. Two victims and the gunman as we just said. Its still unclear if the gunman was a student at aztec high school. Officials say there were no other injuries in the deadly shooting. Police are investiating. Tampa in where the parents Florida State prosecutors say their goal is not to punish the donaldsons but rather to convince them to testify on their sons background. How well donaldson allegedly killed four people in the tampa area in october and november. The motive though is still a mystery. The body of a missing nebraska woman last seen after ggoing on tinder date has been found. Police found 24yearold [inaudible] are in custody for questioning. The 23yearold woman she went on a date with and that womans roommate. No word yet on how the young woman died. Police say they do believe there is evidence of foul play. Deputies working a traffic stop in nebraska found a teddy bear with an illegal surprise inside. The bear was full of pot. Deputies pulled the car over and then smelled the strong odor of marijuana. After searching the car deputies cut the bear opened and found 4 pounds of vacuum sealed marijuana. Both the driver and were arrested. Check this out. In beltsville all lanes of 295 southbound blocked at powder mill road. Traffic is being diverted to powder mill road. Avoid that stretch of 295 southbound. Were seeing a delay alr and take 95 southbound. That will save you some time this morning as you come down toward the beltsville area. Now, 50 is in the clear through bowie. Looking good in annapolis. None of those problems we were dealing with yesterday coming to and from the bay bridge. Inner loop and outer loop look great through maryland. Not seeing any problems you can see on the outer loop top side of the beltway cruising past New Hampshire avenue its a green zone there. Inner loop quiet bottom side of the beltway and even though volume is increasing 270 southbound, 70 to 121 is looking great. Dont forget, though, 355 up in frederick is closed over the Monocacy River bridge so youll have to keep it to 270. That could cause additional congestion for this long term project over the next few weeks. Thats right in just a few hours youll have multiple Law Enforcement agencies out here. Were talking d. C. , Virginia State as county searching along the 95 corridor closer to the garrisonville exit. That is where theyre going to be focusing that search for pamela butler. She went missing back in 2009 in february. She was just 47 years old. And the man who admitted to killing her says he strangled her during an argument in the basement of her home which was in northwest d. C. And then he drove her body to a wooded area off of 95 in Stafford County. Now, earlier this year in october, her boyfriend at the time, Jose Rodriguez cruz he pleaded guilty to Second Degree murder and as part of a plea deal he was sentenced to 12 years in prison and agreed to lead police to her body and exactly where he buried her along 95. Now, later this morning, many of you who live or take 95 through stafford, youll see a lot of these crews searching the area for her remains. It starts at 10 oclock this morning and so a portion of the 95 express lanes in stafford near garrisonville road will be closed for a few hours. Police activity will not, however, impact the general lanes of 95 in stafford or Prince William county. Large Law Enforcement presence will be here. Pamela butlers family they remain hopeful. We spoke to them earlier this week, to her brother derek butler who tells us that he remains hopeful that the remains will be found after eight agonizing years and they really hope that they can finally have some sort of closure to this case thats been lingering for eight years. We should also mention that police say Rodriguez Cruz will not be out here. However, derek butler, her brother, will be out here with Law Enforcement agencies and arlington police, they are still investigating a case from 1989 involving Rodriguez Cruzs first wife, marta, when she went missing and that remains an open investigation and they are still searching for her in that case. Lets talk about those raging wildfires in southern roads and schools are closed, buildings are burning and thousands of people are under new evacuation orders. Relentless overnight winds are fueling the flames with gusts up to 60 miles an hour. Six major fires are currently burning including near burbank the belair neighborhood of los angeles and the largest in Ventura County. Some 50,000 people have been forced to flee while more than 15,000 homes are in the danger zone. Were just kind of waiting and if the fire crosses the road over here, were probably going to go wet down the roof, spray it down and do a couple other actual Little Things turn the sprinklers on and then get out of there. Winds are expected to die down sometime today but theyre going to pick up again tomorrow. The largest fire the one in Ventura County is expected to burn for at least another week or two. Senator al franken took to the Senate Floor Thursday announcing he will be resigning in the coming weeks. Multiple women have accused him of Sexual Misconduct from before and after he was voted into the senate. The most recent comin when a woman said he tried to force a kiss on her back in 2006. During his resignation speech franken took a shot at President Trump and Alabama Republican Senate candidate roy moore. Both faced accusations themselves. Also on the hill, shutdown averted. The house and Senate Passed a bill to prevent a government shutdown. The measure will keep the government running through december 22nd. Temperature at the surface really marginal with this one so your roads, i know theyve been pretreating in virginia especially those ones are likely going to be fine with this event major roadways especially. All lanes previously blocked at powder mill road just moments ago while i was waiting for mike to wrap up the forecast they were able to reopen those southbound lanes.
