shuttle buses will run, but anticipation before the shutdown begins. we are right around the corner. talking about the people who mit turn to driving instead of taking the train, some hov restrictions are going to be put in place in alexandria. keep that in mind. that will effect you whether or not you ride the rails and first the shutdown this weekend. 4 may and 5th and then the summer shutdown washington. a man has died following an altercation at a metro station. justin finch is at the potomac metro station with the latest. >> reporter: a sad day for the family of this man who police say was in some kind of altercation before he was stabbed here at the potomac avenue metro station. let's give you a look at wherei this. this is right where pennsylvania and potomac avenues meet here in southeast near 14th street. there are several homes in this area and schools as well. lot is is of concern for a of people here. but for hours metro transit and d.c. police have this area roped off with tape. spoke with potential witnesses trying to figure out what led up to the altercation tt was called in just before midnight sunday to police here. we dow kno at this time that they tried to get that man to the hospital. e,at victim in this case, he was rushed ther but died on the way to hospital. his name has not yet been released. we can tell you at this point police are still working this case, trying to figure out the motive here. at this time they're looking for at least three people. two males, one female. all said to be in their mid to late teens. we'll continue to work this case for you as more information comes tous, we'll share it with you on air and on our nbc washington app. justin finch, news 4 back inside to you. developing in baltimore this morning, one person was killed and seven others were wounded in a sunday afternoon shooting. this happened during a sidewalk cookout. detectives say a man approached the crowd and opened fire. investigators believe someone started shooting in return. as many as 40 shell casing markers cld be seen on the sidewalk. >> people know who is doing these shootings and targeting different people. for people not to come forward and say who have done this, looking for retaliation, tgo. >> no arrests have been made in th case. the five men trapped in a cave in virginia are safe this morning. the group was trapped inside a cave on saturday during heavy rain. first responders say the men were exhausted and showed signs of hypothermia, but they are all expected to be okay. this morning fire investigators say an unintended outdoor fireplace started a fire at a home in centreville. five people were inside the home when the trouble started sunday mornin an a and three children escaped by a jumping from story window. the house partially collapsed. the flames destroyed a trampoline and aboveground swimmi pool. a family pet has not been found. happening today we may learn if the man accused of killing five people will enter an insanity plea. a judge gave jarod ramos and his defense team time to consider. his attorneys were considering a plea of not criminally responsible. also michael avenatti will be arraigned. he'sccused of stealing millions of dollars from clients, lying to investigators and cheating on his taxes. he was indictedarlier this month on 36 counts including wire and bank fraud. he previously represented stormy daniels who said she had an affair with donald trump and was pa k money top quiet about it. president trump denies the affair. now on capitol hill over the mueller report, aorney general william barr is threatening not to show up to testify before congressional committee this week. he could face subpoena. tracie potts ports. >> i'm committed -- >> reporter: william barr iset to testify before the senate judiciary committee wednesday. that is still bon, his appearance before the house judiciary committee thursday may not happen. democrats want to go behind closed doors to ask questions about what was blacked out of the mueller report on russian election interference they want to lengthen questioning to 30inutes per lawmaker and allow lawyers to grill mr. barr. a justice spokesperson says only lawmakers should. the demands are called abuve and illogical. >> the best person we can hear from is william barr and why his cliff notes wereifferent from the facts and why won't he release the unredacted report. orter: if barr doesn't show up, they'll issue a subpoena for the attorney general and use whatever means necessary to enforce it. democrats also want to hear from special counsel robert mueller. republicans are fed up. >> i'm not going to litigate it. i don't know how clear i can be. it's over for me. >> reporter: mueller left it to congress to determine if president trump obstructed justice. the attorney general decid to drop it, but now may not return capitol hill to explain why. democrats refused to take a look at the last version of the funeral arrangements for richard luger. senator luger died yesterday. he suffered from a rare neurolical disorder. he was 87 years old. he was a republican and touted for his bipartisanshde. vice presi mike pence offered his condolences saying indiana and america will never forget hp leadershi and service. former president barack obama tweeted that luger proved pragmatism and decency worked. today cars and trucked return to the roads in sri lanka's deadly city following attacks on easter. a series of bombs rocked the island nationse killing morthan 250 people. people living in the area say they are going back to work and going to the grocery stores again. meanwhile, the funeral service for the 11-year-old killed in the attack is set for this week. friends and familynd a classmates among a growing number of women. they're using marijuana to help them deal with a range of problems during and after their pregnancy. >> it's a typical day for mom vickie playings blo with depression. were would you be if y not able to use cannabis? >> the cannabis is the only thing that kept me feeling like i had hope, and if i hadn't gotten my medical cannabis, i don't think i'd be in 14 american women reported using cannabis during pregnancy. a number that has more than doubled since 2015. this hincreaseas doctors alarmed. and the american college of obstetricians and not spend any time in front of a doctors say too much screen time at such a young age can impact everything from your child's imagination to social skills. it can also set an unhealthy precedent. the same study cautioned that teens and adults spend too much time in front of screens and it'seading to a spike in diabetes, obesity, and certain cancers. or much time in front of tv on your phones may mean you're not active enough. on average adults spend six hours a d sitting down. teens spend eight hours. >> put the screens down. >> it' hard to do. >> or walk with your phone. >> running into in. here's a few sprinkles coming through our area at 10:00. a few isolated light showers through the overnight hours. and mos of this is out by daybreak tomorrow morning. your forecast for tomorrow, 83 degrees. isolated shower in the morning. then a warmer start as well. we're starting in the 50s tomorrow aspposed to the 30s and 40s. we have a chance for rain later tomorrow night. small chances of rain over the next couple may even have an isolated shower on wednesday. it's not enough to put it in there, not enough chance. we drop the temperature a little bit on wednesday. could have another we make a form of ricotta or fresh cheese and top it with that. we picked up some beautiful strawberries at the market today. and we do pico de gallo. we use strawberries, onion. how does that change the pico flavor? i like my tomatoes in it. >> the strawberries are a little sweet, a little sowe. finish them off with a little bit of sarano, cilantro. we do salt and finish it off with lime juice. >> you'reev having a special t on sunday that promises the best of mexican cue seisine. this is a part of that celebration for sunday? >> yes. this isn there. so we bring all the colors and everything that you would have in a picde gallo. a little more seasonal. the strawberries are some of the best we've had this year so far. >> pretty. that's it? >> that's it. >> that's beautiful. while i taste this, tell us a little bit more about what your take on mexican cuisine -- you want to bring awareness to true mexican cuisine to your clients? >> yes. the conversation we're trying to have with the restaurant is that mexico is vy much a koz koz ma ll tan area. we have communities that influence what mexican cbesine has and continues to turn to. we have big lebanese communities, jewish commities, asiancommunities, all kinds of people cooking their foods with the ingredients down 'rere. we trying to kind of move a little bit forward and bust out of the tried and true mexican menu and talk about what's happening in restaurants and what chefs are doing currently in mexico. >> that's cool. tell me abo this chicken dish. >> this is a very traditional dish. and it's roasted chicken that we serve with pablano. pueblo has the most commonly known mole. >> you're going to make thi at ur restaurant? >> this will be on, for sure. >> amazing. it looks woerful. >> yeah. and we just top it off with a little bit of the mole, finish off withf little bit o sesame seeds, and we're ready to go. >> wonderful. chef christian, i love the fact that you are bringing dishes that people might not understand
