week in just a few. developing first at 4:00, joy, resilience and mystery. a local man missing for a week found alive today, trapped under a tree. prince george's county firefighters say they discovered 66-year-old larry sade off ard wick ardmore road in spring dale. news4's pat collins is there live now. how is he doing, pat? >> reporter: so far, he is doing pretty good compared to everything that could have happened here, it is an incredible story of survival. he is 66 years old. he lived in that house. he has been missing for a week. today, he was found beneath a fallen tree, in those woods down there, about a block from his home. the case of larry murton sade, solved this afternoon when the 66-year-old vietnam vet was found trapped under a tree in the woods near his home on ard wick ardmore road in the spring dale section of prince george's county. >> this is strange, isn't it? >> it is. it is. and for him potentially being there for as long as he has been missing and no one ever noticing him in this area i'm not sure how much pedestrian traffic is by here every day, but fortunately, someone was walking this way saw him and contacted officials. >> this could have had a far more tragic ending. >> without a doubt. >> reporter: now, this is how they say it happened. around 1 a.m. last monday they say mr. sade went for a walk from his home here. what caused him to go for that walk? how did he end up in those woods? there are a lot of questions. i'm still searching for some answers. i will be back at 5. barbara, back to you. >> thank you, pat. we have a developing story about the 2024 olympics now. there could be new life in washington's efforts to host the games now that boston is pulling out of contention. boston's bid was in jeopardy from the beginning because of the low public support and active opposition. today mayor marty walsh said he wouldn't sign any document that had taxpayers footing any bill. the u.s. olympic is now considering other cities to host the games. d.c. council member jack evans just told us that washington was the best choice from the start and he says the district is still interested in getting the bid. now to new information about two missionaries stabbed at a maryland church. one man is dead, his wife may not survive. the man suspected of killing them called 911 himself. it happened at the anna prayer mountain church in frederick where that new information came out today. i'm meagan fitzgerald in frederick county, a man fatally stabbed, his wife in critical condition, it happened at anna prayer mountain church right up this road. investigators received a call of a stabbing about 7:45 sunday night. they arrived on scene and found two missionaries from south korea lying on the floor. investigators were back out on the scene today and say the suspect 30-year-old song sue kim of falls church, virginia, called police on this stretch of road, telling them he was ready to be arrested just moments after the attack happened. they say kim attacked the couple with a kitchen knife. coming up at 5:00 why the frederick county sheriff believes the suspect had this attack all planned out. this is chris gordon in rockville at the scene of vandalism. the words "black lives matter" was spray painted on this statue overnight. the confederate memorial was erected in 1913 50 years after the battle of gettysburg, as a symbol of reconciliation. but recently, it has been the focus of controversy, whether it should be removed or not. >> is a misdemeanor, punishable by 90 days incarceration or up to $1,000 fine. >> reporter: montgomery county executive ike leggett has said he wants that confederate memorial removed but he says he may allow it to be relocated if the rockville city council wants it to be moved to an area of historical significance. back to you. new at 4:00, the fire that badly damaged this house just ruled arson. investigators are looking for people who were in the house without permission. take a look at the photos posted on twitter last night after the fire on walters place in the district, district heights, that is. investigators believe the blaze started in a second floor bedroom, according to red fin. the house is in foreclosure and has been on the auction block since last march. meanwhile president obama is 7,000 miles from because right now, but the distance did not stop him from a strong reaction to the republican presidential candidates, mike huckabee, who invoked the holocaust in reference to -- as a reference to criticize the iran nuclear university of mary washington student. steven van der brie is charged with first-degree murder abduction and strangulation. prosecutors say he killed his housemate grace mann back in april. last month some of the other roommates say the suspect confessed to her killing. first at 4:00 a loudoun county man a leader in a white supremacist group now admits he tried to hire someone to kill his ex-wife. dallas brum back pleaded guilty to seven charges today, including attempted murder. an undercover officer developed a relationship with brum back last year and learned about his ties to the kkk. brum back eventually offered the undercover agent $5,000 to kill his ex-wife. brum back also pleaded guilty to multiple child abuse and neglect charges for having loaded weapons in his sterling, virginia, home, in areas where children played. coming up on news4 at 6:00, northern virginia bureau chief julie carey explains why brum back wanted his ex-wife dead. a warning this afternoon if you use path or trails in loudoun county. police are looking for a man who has exposed himself to strangers several times in the past three months. all the incidents happened in ashburn, some in the morning some at night. just yesterday, the man jumped in front of two runners before taking off, although he hasn't attacked or touched anyone so far, the sheriff's office warns anyone using those trails to stay in groups, don't wear ear phones and make sure someone knows were you are and when you plan to return. a west virginia woman may have prevented her own death and solve a string of serial murders as well. a dramatic encounter at her own doorstep. plus, the cosby cover that's stirring controversy on social media. we have got some thunderstorms out there right now, producing not only high winds, but flooding and more severe thunderstorm warnings possible as well as flash flood warnings. bell we will slow-moving storms producing some high winds, also producing some flooding so we have had that flash flood warning. it continues for a while longer, right inside d.c., for areas of alexandria, for fairfax for prince george's county, that flash flood warning until 6:45 flooding has been occurring throughout much of this area, severe thunderstorm warning also until 4:30 because of the high winds that the storm system is producing. look at this, from d.c. to alexandria, still the moderate to heavy rain also upper marlboro, down toward sunderland area and again, moving east southeast with these rainfall rates at around an inch per hour. easy to see why flooding is occurring, ponding on area roads, got more heavy rain to the west there over reston headed toward fairfax. in terms to. other part of our story, it is all about the high heat and humidity coming our watch you know it is just the beginning of a heat wave. wait until you see how high temperatures top out by midweek. i will have that coming up. the investigation is now on to determine if a woman attacked in her home shot and killed a serial killer. >> police say the woman shot 45-year-old neil falls in self-defense at a home in charleston, west virginia last week. the two met online. the woman says she arranged to meet falls through an escort service. instead of bringing money place say they found weapons, trash bags and bleach in his car. according to investigators during the struggle, the woman grabbed his gun and shot him. her neighbor made the 911 call. investigators are now looking into any possible connection between falls and a number of unsolved prostitute deaths in nevada and ohio. >> patriot. >> cover story, bill cosby's accusers tell their stories w first at 4:00, an autopsy under way this afternoon on bobbi kristina brown, the only daughter of singers whitney houston and bobby brown died yesterday. the medical examiner says it will be complicated to reconstruct what happened. back in january she was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her atlanta home. her father released a statement this afternoon that reads -- new york magazine's website is up and running again. it was offline for ten hours today, shortly after publishing a cover story about bill cosby's accusers. 35 women who say they were sexually assaulted by cosby took part in the interview. they all posed for this cover. the women described in detail when they first met the comedian and how he allegedly drugged and raped them. cosby denies the allegation and has not been charged with any crime. a major shift from the boy scouts. later today the group's governing board is expected to lift the ban on gay men serving as scout leaders. the change will allow gay and bisexual leaders to work for or volunteer for the organization. today's vote comes two years after the group lifted its ban on openly gay youth members. caitlyn jenner is getting a lot of attention right now but she is not the only transgender american breaking new ground. >> a former navy s.e.a.l. is now setting her sights on a handling of lgbt issues? >> he is great. but lgbt community, are you telling me that the entire community is that shallow, that they only care about their own rights? >> reporter: and in the year that are hearing word about flooding, possible flooding. where veronica? >> the weather having a big impact inside the district, prince george's county fairfax county now the heaviest rain moving through areas of prince george's county and down through the southern part of the beltway, as you head down i-95. let me show you what i'm talking about, a couple of clusters with thunderstorms, yes, you can see the lightning that i put on here, fairfax right down through prince george's county and also present toward st. mary's and calvert county then we have got two other clusters, one back here, warren and shenandoah county, another farther south areas of charlottesville, all headed south southeast, very slowly, around five to ten miles per hour. slow movement of these storms producing flooding on area roads, certainly bond ponding, flash flooding continues for western fairfax county, prince george's county until 6:45 a while longer. i think this maybe the next area that may go under a severe thunderstorm warning or flash flood warning. that would be areas of eastern prince george's county. the reason why rainfall rates here well over three almost closer to four inches per hour, just south of upper marlboro, down 301 around brandywine, all this heavy rain is eventually headed into areas of st. mary's and calvert county. we continue also with the flash flood warning off to the west until 7 p.m. for shenandoah and frederick county in virginia. as far as the impact that the weather is going to have on your travel, your exercise out and about, use moderate conditions out there, umbrellas needed certainly drenching possible, very humid air. that's the other thing the air is very humid it is really juiced up. so, not going to take much to be getting those downpours across our area with city storms this week, same sort of deal, 75 degrees, storm chances continue until about 9 to 10 p.m. after that, still going to be sticky, temperatures dropping into the upper 70s. weather will have a low-to-moderate impact on your day tomorrow higher heat, higher temperatures, but with lower rain chances coming our way for tomorrow. let's go ahead and look at the seven-day forecast here, weather alert day 94 96 degrees on wednesday and thursday. but even after that, the high heat continues across our area. we have got more on the storms moving through our area coming up and should any about two hours ago because of their slow movement and just putting out so much rain in a short period of time. we have seen some flooding around certain locations, d.c., montgomery county, you can see that the storms on radar the trend, they are starting to lose their punch as they slide more toward the southeast. so, headed toward calvert county now, some moderate-to-heavy rains w he continue with a number of flash flood warnings, all those red boxes that you see, including in d.c. i-81 around warren, shenandoah and charlottesville, inside the beltway arlington as well, fairfax, portions of prince george's county, the flooding continues until 6:45, then warren county, shenandoah, frederick as well for a while longer. here is the trend, the heavy rain, look at all the lightning there approaching areas of calvert county, just on the west side of deal the rainfall rates around two, three inches per hour. if you're going out, yes, you're going to need the big umbrella, expecting downpours. i wanted to make sure i got to this, we did hit 90. we have had 29 90-degree days this year, we hit 90 we dropped to 75 in just an hour's time with a lot of the humidity coming out of the and what you can do to protect yourself. >> reporter: some joggers along ashburn farm parkway in ashburn have gotten an eyeful lately. a naked man wandering even jumping out at two women on a run near golden meadow circle. >> very alarming, actually, because i take my dog for a walk every day. and, you know, i don't want to run into something like that. >> reporter: he has been spotted by several people in several places over the past couple of weeks. ashburn farm parkway and golden meadow claiborne parkway and wayside circle and just yesterday, ashburn road and louisa drive near the elementary school and hay road. >> i do try to take the precautions of checking my surroundings when i get in and out of my car and things like that. and i usually don't walk my dog unless it's, you know, daylight hours. >> reporter: loudoun deputies are looking for the man. they say so far he hasn't said a word to anybody or had any physical contact with anyone. so,s here the advice from the sheriff's office. they want runners, walkers and bikers to have a partner or be in a group, have your phone with you and let someone know your route and when you will be back. in loudoun county kristen wright, news4. an incredible turnout right now in loudoun county in memory of a local teen. madison small died in april from meningitis. now, her family and friends are hosting a golf tournament and dinner at the 1757 golf club in ashburn. the event sold out and will raise more than $20,000 for scholarships and meningitis research and awareness. >> our big goal right now is just to make a positive now. that's the biggest thing that we are thinking about. >> kind of came up with the idea of a golf tournament, i knew we could raise money but all come together, year after year and remember her, celebrate her, so her memory is going to live on. >> the scholarships will be granted to students at broad run high school where madison attended. ed -- the family says the event is so
