Police returning to the Central Gardens of apartments. This is where the two Security Guards were shot overnight. You can see the officers are putting three men in handcuffs. These three individuals were then taken by police from the scene. Now this happened just about an hour ago not far from where the shooting happened. These men were over by the pool area just behind the building where the shooting happened. Police, we should say, put out a tweet just a short time ago saying that there have been no arrests in connection with the murder of a Security Guard in Capitol Heights and they will announce any significant updates as they happen. It was 1 00 in the morning. Two Security Guards were here doing their jobs. They were working when somebody opened fire. This woman lights a candle near the spot where the two Security Guards were shot. She said the guards were friendly and there to protect them. They were kind. They just had to do their jobs. Reporter it was 1 00 in the morning. The Security Guards were on duty at the Central Gardens apartments when someone opened fire. One of the guards was killed and police say this was no random act of violence. At the time of the shooting, it appears the guards were inside their vehicle doing paperwork. And it appears they were targeted . Yes, maam. Were two cars were towed from the scene. Investigators left with several bags of ed as well, includeing what looked like a bullet proof vest. Regulars say the guards are armed. Its unclear if either of the victims returned fire. Its so sad. Reporter this woman didnt want her face shown but she says the guard who was killed was a young man and a dedicated father. The sad thing about it, he was so young. His daughter is about two or three years old. He would talk to us. Reporter and police say that after the murder, a black Dodge Charger was seen speeding away from the scene going toward central avenue. They are asking any witnesses to come forward.
