Neighbors say it happened during a house party. News4s derrick ward just spoke to a neighbor. Derrick . Reporter well, good morning, again. We are outside the Farmington Woods community. A Single Family development tucked away off route 410, indian head highway in accokeek. See this house behind me . This is the premiere house in the development, but neighbors say its the source of trouble. Loud and boisterous parties and often block neighbors from getting to their house. Outside the development is where a lot of cars parked to attend the party. Theres the obligatory plastic cups to say there was a party here and there was Something Else last night. 1 00 a. M. When Police Responded to this place outside the development where they found an adult male who had been shot and that person later died at the hospital. We dont have an identity of that victim or any sort of suspect lookout. But we talked to neighbors around here, they said that last night was one of those parties that they have so often talked about. And some have complained about. This man tell us what he saw. When i was coming through here yesterday, there was maybe three i would say had to be at least 300 people in there. It was so many you couldnt even get past here really. It was cars on both sides all the way down each side, all where the restaurants are. It was i thought there was something serious happening. Reporter we actually understand that some of the neighbors actually complained to police about not being able to get to their homes. We dont know what the response was. You know, there was a point in Prince Georges County where they had considered sort of having police stationed outside of large parties like this because there had been several incidents maybe a year or two ago where they had resulted in violence. New this morning a Fairfax County School Board Members says a woman attacked here while canvassing for votes this week. Kathy smith was out canvassing yesterday and Pamela Ichord then attacked smith. Smith said ichord ran toward her screaming, ripped a clipboard out of her hands and ripped her sunglasses off her face. Ichord was upset over a vote that sent her kids to separate high schools. Smith vote in favor of the School Boundary swap. Smith plans to be back out canvassing on that very same street today. Well, today theres going to be a vigil for a 9yearold boy who died after being beaten after eating a piece of birthday cake. The vigil is at 7 30 tonight at hagerstown. Jack garcia died days after his birthday. Police say his mothers boyfriend Robert Wilson handcuffed and beat the boy for eating cake without permission. Wilson is charged with first Degree Assault and child abuse. Prosecutors say they are considering other charges as well. Were working to find out the conditions of three people taken to the hospital following severe turbulence. They were aboard a United Airlines flight flying from puerto rico to dulles. Reuters reports two flight attendants also hurt. Another flight from San Francisco ran into bad turbulence but folks aboard that plane didnt need any medical attention. Well, a bear caused quite a stir at the university of colorado. The black bear wandered on to campus and climbed up a tree as they do at a dorm. And new this morning a rhode island beach back open after an explosion sent a woman to the hospital. That happened near narragansett, rhode island, yesterday, the woman was sitting on the beach when there was a loud boom and then she was thrown against the rock wall.
