For years now the foster care system is strained and the Opioid Crisis has created an avalanche of neglected children. More and more children are removed from homes because of their parents opioid addiction and we sat down with a mom in Drug Recovery and her son talking about their long journey to unification. Terry got hooked on oxycontins at 19. And soon she was dealing pain killers to feed her habit until the day she got busted. Hooked on pain meds and facing time behind bars the county took her three young children. Its horrible because of my choices, many kid his to suffer. You know you bring children into your home that are through trauma and abused and neglected. We call them children from hard places and those children need lots of attention.
