New this morning, a philadelphia sheriffs deputy is getting over being in a crash. His unmarked vehicle was hit by another car on the 2300 block of North Woodstock street in north philadelphia just before midnight overnight. The deputy didnt need medical attention but the other driver suffered a head injury and had to be taken to the hospital. And a teenager has been shot. He was just standing on the street in West Philadelphia. A lot of questions about what happened here. So lets go over to action News ReporterJeanette Reyes. That boy is fighting for his life this morning after being shot once. Meanwhile, police are trying to find the gunman. This happened overnight last night. Take a look at the video here from the scene just past in the 5200 block of walnut street. Pretty busy intersection here in West Philadelphia. Police say a 17yearold boy was shot once in the hip while standing on that corner. Hawpe brought to penn presbyterian by private car where he was listed in Critical Condition. The scene was taped off for the better part of the evening while police collected whatever evidence they could find but this morning, they are not sharing at lot they are not sharing it with us, with the public. No word on a suspect description or a motive. But of course the investigation is ongoing. Well let you know as soon as we get new information. We expect to get more information today on the woman who was found dead inside her home in the citys lawndale section. As of last night, a person of interest was being questioned at police headquarters. The 68yearold victim was found in her bedroom yesterday afternoon on the 7100 block of oxford avenue. Investigators discovered three knives at the scene. However, sources tell action news the victim may have been hit over the head. Police say the person being questioned is an acquaintance of the victim. Super bowl parade and party may be over but police are still looking for fans who behaved badly and they are using videos and pics to help in their search. Philadelphia Police Released a cache of photos and videos asking for your help to identify the rowdy fans. Some are seen carrying light poles or stealing signs. Other video depicts people jumping on a white corvette of a woman who was attending the eagles parade. Police vow to track down and prosecute those responsible for the vandalism and thefts. Happening today, christians will be observing the start of lent with Ash Wednesday but some people wont need to go to church to get their ashes. Instead the ashes are coming to them. For another year the clergy from that Saint Peters Episcopal Church in society hill will be at Jefferson Station to distribute ashes to commuters. Theyll be there from 7 30 until 9 00 this morning. Taking a look outside, still a fair amount of cloud cover on sky6 over the airport and elsewhere but we are expecting some sunny breaks today and we might even break out a decent amount of sunshine later in the day. Couple of long range models beginning to take two features that were just going to stay separate. They didnt like each other on the models about 24 hours ago. They were just going to kind of split the difference to the north and south and not do too much with us. Now these models are bringing these two together. That makes for a more robust storm. It will be rain down in the Southern States but by the time it gets here it could be close enough where it draws in a little cold air and saturday night into sunday morning there is the chance of some snow before a changeover to rain. This should be arriving saturday evening, done real early sunday morning but, you know, a few inches of accumulation would be possible in places that see all the snow. Course where that rain line sets up is going to be pretty important. Could be that philadelphia just gets mainly rain out of it.
