The weekend is finally here and chances are most of us will like the weekend forecast. Meteorologist adam joseph is in for cecily tynan night hes in the Action News Weather Center with a look at the weekend. Kind of a little bit of everything adam, hm . Both days are warm but one day far better than the other. Right now temperatures were still a bit on the chilly side but this is normal for this time of year to be sitting the at that 40 degrees for philadelphia, syracuse burlington vermont 26 degrees but look just to the west pittsburgh right now 52 degrees. That warmth it is waiting and theres a good bubble of that warmth to the south and west. Raleigh 52, cincinnati 56, even chicago right now sitting at 50 degrees and then youve got some 60s saint louis and memphis new orleans 65 degrees. High pressure down to the south and that high will that continue to push off the coast but what that is going to do is allow this front near minneapolis right now, slices through chicago tomorrow and then approaches here early on sunday morning and you can see a good amount of green on the radar here. This is 8 30 on sunday morning with a solid area of very light to moderate rainfall and that front will continue to progress through as we get into the second half of sunday. So, for the weekend ahead, upper 50s for saturday, definitely the pick of the weekend with lots of sunshine. The only thing about tomorrow is pretty strong winds. Then a rainy sunday on tap but it does dry out for our northwestern suburbs, our counties in pennsylvania could see that that rain end on sunday afternoon and then Colder Weather sets in monday night into tuesday were i was chance for some snow showers. Well show you the rest that of sevenday forecast monica coming up in just a little bit. Sounds good adam thank you. Carson wentz on a whim finally stood in his locker today and decided to break his silence. We havent heard from wentz since he walked off the field after the heartbreaking injury on december 10th in los angeles. Turns out he not only tore his acl but his lcl as well. Hes hopeful he can return week one next season. You got to feel for carson a competitor who surely is dying to be out there with his team. He talked about how tough it is to just be watching from afar. Yeah, i wouldnt say its a prideful thing. As humans we all want to be the competitors that we are and be out there on the field. Every time the offense is on the field on sundays its tough. It hits me a little bit but then im in it because i love these guys and im part of the team just as much as anybody else. I get involved in the game and that kind of all goes away but yeah without a doubt, im a human, it sucks to not be out there but i love watching the guys and i couldnt be happier for nick. Reporter well, hes actually here every day at 6 00 a. M. In the quarterback room with nick foles helping him to prepare. He said he kind of held a pity party for himself that first week but then he picked himself up and is rooting the team on. Hell be going with the team to minneapolis and will be on the sidelines as they played the patriots and he said a super bowl win would be awesome, would be awesome. He had to say it twice. We were just so happy to be in minnesota for thanksgiving this year and look whats here in minnesota oh, the stadium where the super bowl is going to be and we would like to see the eagles go there so what we did is we rubbed philadelphia all over it. All right, they hid that eagles football in the stadium somewhere, shhh. We dont know where they hid it or if it was ever found but remember they did this back in november. They must have had a feeling the eagles were going to the super bowl. If you go and you find that ball let us know and well put you on tv too. What i wanted to show you before that happened was a delay that were dealing with out southbound side of 495 approaching terminal avenue but the crash that caused the big delay and the slowing just cleared out. So, just 4 Miles Per Hour at the moment but the pace should be starting to pick up momentarily. Still, i think id head for 95 southbound instead of 495 southbound in wilmington. In christiana were watching an accident investigation. The crash involved a pedestrian along the southbound side of one at churchmans road. So slowing there as well by i95. This is 95 in the fishtown section of philadelphia. You can see were slow here in both directions but earlier issues that we had on 95 including a northbound crash near the betsy ross bridge and a southbound disabled truck, they both cleared out so the lanes are opened now. Its just still pretty crowded along 95. Disabled school bus on the schuylkill westbound approaching the boulevard is off to the side and the boulevards busy but at least its opened this afternoon. Unlike yesterday afternoon. Close to the 69th Street Transportation Center watch out for a crash along market near 69th street. Now were getting word of a crash in pottstown. Its the westbound side of 422 offramp to stow. So, some speeds in there 30s there coming away from pottstown and in mount holly some downed wires are blocking pine street near the mary Dobbins School this afternoon. Madison avenue an alternate there. Well check it again, rick and monica, coming up in the next half hour. How about that green. I thought you planned it. I didnt. Its not easy being green sometimes. A fourth grader with Cerebral Palsy is closer to her dream of playing the viola and her helpers are three local engineering students who have never even picked up an instrument. I just love music and i really want to play an instrument. Rain mason smith doesnt just want to listen to music she wants to make it but Cerebral Palsy makes holding the bow difficult. Since fall a trio of engineering students from Concorde High School has been designing and manufacturing a brace to give rain just the right grip. Julia weeks says the first step was pretty basic understanding how to make music. None of us play any instruments. Once they learned that, they focused on rains specific challenge. The motion of bowing comes from the elbow so when we realized thats the trouble we realized we needed to figure out something else. For julia Hannah Kennedy and antonio, its been a careful process of designing and testing proto types again and again moving a little further each time. In addition to the hand brace theyve also created a guide to limit the bows horizontal angle encouraging a better grip. And slide it right there. All the testing and changing hasnt slowed rains musical progress. Shes on track with all the other students. Its easier for me to play. It really just makes us happy to see that to see that smile on her face when she finally gets a great note out. Absolutely. They used their hands and carts to get their hands on the delicious spread discounted 70 percent off. Folks were waiting in long lines to get into the store. There were reports things were so chaotic police had to be called in to manage the nutella line. Wow. Kind of nutty. Time for a check of the accuweather forecast. Meteorologist adam joseph is here, final weekend of january. Yea. May want to keep the umbrella nearby. For the final weekend of january this is going to be exceptional when you take a look at those temperatures. Not bad. We head to the Weather Center and folks enjoying a very seasonable day here on Spring Mountain live on sky6. They dont want to hear about the warmth. They want it to stay cold. They were cranking out snow last night. Good amount of folks skiing and snowboarding right now live on Spring Mountain. Whats happening is at the surface we have that chill in the atmosphere today. Weve got that cold air, it is trapped right now about 2,000 feet in the atmosphere. Its called a low level inversion in the weather world. So, theres a little weather 101. It happens on earth here and just above our heads is something that we follow but we also have to look all the way up into the atmosphere up to 5,000 feet. Whats happening is above 2000 feet, theres this warm layer of air, warm air is less dense, it is more buoyant so it is stuck over that cold dense air at the surface so we cant break that warm air down to warm us up at the surface yet. Whats going to happen tomorrow, winds will kick up everything will mix out and well get that warm air thats just above our head to come down to where we work and play. As we look at temperatures 36 in wilmington, 35 in millville, so, yes, a little cold out there right now. Weve got that clear sky. We have some high clouds to the west that are developing and some of that will come in late in the day tomorrow ahead of the next system so for tonight 29 in trenton, freezing for philadelphia, 20s for most of the suburbs under that clear sky. And again not as cold as it was the last few nights. So that inversion its going to break down here tomorrow as those winds whip up 30, 40 miles an hour so again to get that warmer air just above our heads were going into the 50s tomorrow afternoon, very mild. Lots of sunshine, clouds late in the day and then that rain starts to arrive sunday morning 8 00 a. M. It is raining everywhere. That rain continues into the early afternoon at 1 oclock. South and east will start to detroit out surgeon afternoon. Sunday 5 00 p. M. Rain lingers at the shore a lot of clouds inland but overall a little improvement the second half of sunday especially for our pennsylvania counties with about a quarter inch of rain on average. As we look at the five day at 5 00 forecast mild but windy 57 degrees. Rainy and mild sunday with that rain ending north to south as we get into the afternoon of 54 and then it turns colder monday, 46, sun and clouds. There could be a system just off the coast that skirt our shore communities with that rain or snow showers late monday and then tuesday another system doesnt look big, looks pretty weak but maybe some snow showers at 34 and then partly sunny, cold on wednesday, just 33 degrees but well move those temperatures back up heading to february. Well talk about that in the sevenday. Next more still ahead in our next half hour of action news at 5 30. Well have more. Stay with us. No. But were hoping for good news so well go to matt pelman to see whats happening in the action news traffic center. Hey, matt. We can always hope but it could be a little easier in a couple of spots, rick and monica, like here on 422 westbound side jammed solid this evening coming out of king of prussia and 202 through this point at oaks interchange for egypt road. Good news is the accident we have here just got pushed off to the side so they just reopened both westbound lanes but still a 26 Minute Travel time means its really slow. Maybe come out 23 or main street ridge pike instead. Then farther west on 422 there was a crash on the off ramp to stow. Looks like it may be in the process of clearing. But still sluggish there as you travel through pottstown. And in king of prussia serious accident this evening here. This is 202 the northbound side where it splits with dekalb street to go into bridgeport and most people are being forced to do that go into bridgeport. Cant keep going north near the danne hower bridge. Nasty wreck. You see a wrecker in there right now a couple fire Trucks Police on the scene. 202 northbound big delays coming away from the mall in king of prussia because of this crash. Going to be forced over to bridgeport instead. On the big picture still have that broken down school bulls on the schuylkill westbound approaching the boulevard but its all off to the side. An earlier issue we had along 95 have cleared. However still some slow speeds. Keep in mind 23rd street is going to be closed all weekend this weekend. Thats because of construction going on close to arch street so 21st will get you around it starting at 6 30 this evening. A crash along 495 southbound in wilmington. Its cleared out now but still some slowing there from about terminal avenue down to the merge with 95, just 10 Miles Per Hour as you try and merge with 95 there. And in mount holly were still watching some downed wires this afternoon by the mary Dobbins School. Pine street blocked off. So madison avenue gets you around that on this friday afternoon. Rick and monica, have a good weekend. You do the same. See you monday. Thank you. Check it out at salon moxie in chadds ford they are offering green hair extension and it isnt just to show your team spirit its also for charity. Each extension is 15 and the salon is donating all proceeds to saint christophers hospital. Jeff skverskys hair always looking good. Very nice. Everyone needs that jalen mills haircut, the mohawk. Its cool. You rock it. It would end go as well on his head. Carson wentz. Hes trying to stay involved as much as humanly possible of course with him being out the last six weeks. While carson wentz has spent the last six weeks leaning on a cane nick foles has been leaning on an injured quarterback to help him get ready and wentz remains a crutch for foles in the biggest game of them all, the super bowl. Lets go thrive jaime apody at eagles headquarters with more on wentzs role now in the super bowl. Reporter jeff, carson is in here at 6 00 a. M. Never day in the quarterback meeting room with Nate Sudfield and nick foles. Imagine how hard it is for wentz to watch from the sidelines. Such a competitor. Today we heard from him for the First Time Since that devastating injury on december 10th in los angeles. Carson told us he tore both his acl and his lcl. That was new news today. Hes targeting week run for a return. So just how tough is it to be abspectator as his team heads to the super bowl . Its that part of me that Human Element that wants to be out there, you know, without a doubt, im a competitor, i set out with this goal in mind to get here and not only to get here but to win. Obviously it looks different for me but the team is still plugging along and i couldnt be happier for them. Reporter are you becoming like coach carson. Sure. I dont know. Reporter but i mean what is your role now . Yeah, you know, im trying to be involved in what i can but im definitely not not a coach. I still voice my opinion in small pieces but like i said im definitely nicks the guy and nicks been voicing his opinion more than anybody. Reporter its nicks team and this is a business trip for these guys like brent celek who has waited an entire career to get this opportunity. I asked the longest tenured eagle this question. It isnt enough to get there, is it . Nono, we got to win this game. I think thats everyones mindset in this locker room is our goal is to win this. There is no other options. Reporter isnt that great to hear . It was a reality check today if you looked at the hallways right outside the locker room, suitcase after suitcase after suitcase line the halls. The eagles shipped their luggage today to minneapolis and the best part about that site was that each one of them had a luggage tag personalized with the logo super bowl 52. Its getting real guys. As we look at numbers now, many locations in the 30s already. 39 in allentown, 36 wilmington, 35 for millville. Right at 40 degrees for philadelphia. That light wind is coming in out of the southeast off of that ocean which is 37 degrees so thats why theres a bit of a chill to the air with that wind coming in off of that cold atlantic. High pressures just to our south right now. The tide will continue to drift to the east win that what its going to do is its going to create those winds on the backside of the high out of the southwest. Theres a cold front near chicago. The only thing at the shore is that south southwesterly wind is going to catch off the water. Along the immediate shores only in the 40s not as warm as it will be inland with sun and clouds. Then as we get into sunday morning, thats when we paint everything green around here with that light rainfall. This is 8 oclock in the morning. Lunchtime still raining philadelphia all of south jersey and delaware. Starting to dry out north and west towards the lehigh valley.
