week. we look at the winter storm warnings and they extend to florida to the carolinas and they don't go far inland just the coastal communities not included philadelphia. if you want a major nor'easter you need to see these inland. the mainly along the coast. it begins wednesday night at the shore and then works its way inland thursday morning. thursday morning is rush hour and despite not a major storm still creating very slick travel on thursday morning's rush hour with the hardest hit area southeastern new jersey and tapers off thursday afternoon. we'll show you a closer look with future tracker and how much snow with this storm and the brutal numbers friday and saturday coming up in just a bit. >> adam, thank you. >> all the cold weather is causing a lot of problems with infrastructure in the area. chopper 6 hd was overhead as the water gusts from the large water main break in conshohocken and flooded nearby businesses and impacting houses in towns. walter perez is live at the scene this afternoon and crews have their hands full with all of these problems today. >> reporter: this is a real mess. a live look at the scene right now, you can see there the water that rushed from the ruptured main washed out the soil of this part of balligomingo road resulting in the closure to traffic and the utility pole was compromised and has to be uprighted before the repair can begin on the ruptured main. some lost water pressure and some lost power and a few lost both. it was right around 5:30 this morning when this huge 30 inch water main ruptured sending a torrent of water through a handful of homes downstream from the break. the somerwood corporation was one of them. >> it came through the building and out the back door and we run off a generator and they have to work around the clock to get it fixed. >> more than 1,000 homes and businesses have to deal with low water pressure and some of those customers like patty have no water service. >> we don't have young children in the house, i can't imagine if for parents that do i can't imagine the hardship. this is crazy. >> overall the break is effecting service in bryn mawr and conshohocken along with glen side and cheltenham township. >> i know that since this morning the pressures have begun to build up and recover we hope in a 4 hour period to be up to full pressure and the leak repaired. >> back out live on the scene here, we should mention that only a handful of customers lost power and those repairs should be complete within a few hours. water service is expected to be fully restored by can have tomorrow morning. no word at this hour when balligomingo road will reopen. reporting live walter perez, channel 6 "action news." >> crews working around the clock there thank you. another water main break is causing headaches in morristown, burlington county. the westbound lanes are closed at pleasant valley avenue and the department of public works crews are making the repairs, the pipe broke at 7:00 and the ice quickly build up. and "action news" will let you know once the road is reopened. some students in delaware county got an extra day added to their winter break and the pipe burst at winterboro high school forcing officials to cancel classes and all other schools open as scheduled. no word if it will be fix ford the start of classes tomorrow. and the start of frigid temperatures have taken a toll on cars and trucks. the office of the district attorney of philadelphia -- >> the new da was sworn in. krasner was a former public defender and civil rights lawyer that expects to step on toes. he opposes the death penalty and mass incarceration and wanted to scuttle the bail system. the fop has branded him soft on crime and hostile to police. he laid out his vision today. >> today we start the long road toward trading division to police and the communities they serve for unity and reconciliation and cooperation, all of which make us safer. >> the president of the fop did not attend the swearing in but in a statement offered congratulations and in that they could work together. rebecca rinehart the first female controller that promised scrutiny of the parking authority and various city departments. but reform plans of district attorney krasner is looking for sources that are digging in to resist major changes. well, delaware state police are investigating the death of a woman that was found in a wawa parking lot. police tell "action news" that the 49-year-old woman was found inside of a vehicle at the store on the unit block of south dupont highway just before 7:30 this morning. employees told police that suv had been there for several days and autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death. >> fire crews are battling a multi-alarm fire, in salem county. this broke out after 2:30, the flames overtook the building on the 600 block of upper neck road and appears to have started inside a garage and so far no injuries are reported. >> time for a first check of the "action mainly just the coastal communities of cape may county atlantic county and southern burlington county and ocean county this for wednesday evening into thursday eveni as the nor'easter just gd us by here as it looks right now for the time period of wednesday evening into thursday evening, this is where we expect the heaviest snow to fall and snows farther west than that. and this is where you see the higher snow totals with this particular storm. as we look at temperatures now 24 philadelphia and millville and wilmington as well as dover, teens in lancaster and up in the poconos right now just 14 degrees, factor in the wind and better than yesterday. but still pretty bitter, 7 allentown and 9 in reading and 13 in philadelphia and 12 in dover, and 1 below zero in the poconos. satellite 6 along with action radar everything is very quiet right now, the pieces of energy coming together here is one piece in the northern plains, the other piece in the deep south and you see the storm develop just to the east of jacksonville florida, and really ramp up out of the carolinas, and the moon lit sky 5 in allentown and 12 in philadelphia and teens down to the shore. and as we get into the wednesday, this is the warmest day of the next seven or so. any sun in the morning gives way to clouds building in the afternoon ahead of the storm. future tracker 6 showing at 11:00 tomorrow everything is to wrap up and pull out. and we see sunshine returning here thursday afternoon. how much snow to expect again this could waffle still but this is what we are looking at as of today and right now a coating to just an inch north of that pennsylvania turnpike, the poconos and allentown and lancaster and all the delaware valley. 1 to 3 inches of snow and 3 to 6 inches where we have the winter storm warnings in effect. this is far from a blockbuster nor'easter and we have had amounts like this. but still something we have to deal with when trying to travel around on thursday. your four day at 4:00 forecast, sun to clouds and 31 for tomorrow and snow the heaviest to the east on thursday and 29 degrees and the biggest story right now is the dangerous cold friday and saturday. high temperatures, in the teens and overnight lows near zero. with the winds whipping here friday and saturday, it's going feel below zero the entire day. we'll look at the numbers and they are "action news" continues. hello again 4:30 now and "action news" continues with a woman's christmas gift to her boyfriend that came along with a set of rules and a contract. we'll explain. >> plus, a vehicle was almost floating after a water main break caused major damage in a philadelphia neighborhood. and having an updated resume is key when you are job searching and cleaning out the social media accounts is also a must. first at 4:30 we are under an accuweather alert when we brace for possible snow and the coldest air we have felt so far this season. >> we have a nor'easter to watch out for and temperatures that drop like a rock later this week. temperatures today were still in the 20s and feeling though like the teens and with everyone bundled up you can't recognize anyone on the street anymore. >> meteorologist, adam joseph, here now with the late effort on the accuweather forecast. karen rogers sent a tweet earlier with the feathers. classic. it's not about fashion but staying warm. people are bundling up and today is balmy compared to friday and saturday. big changes to come and of course we have snow that will fall here on thursday as well. temperatures right now in the 20s across the board. 21 in allentown and 24 in philadelphia and wilmington. and like the last several days air temperatures mean nothing. you have to look at the windchill because in is what you want to dress for when you head out. 7 degrees in allentown and 13 philadelphia and 14 in wilmington and 12 in trenton and at the shore 14 degrees they see the most snow out this have next storm. lets take a look at the models here and future tracker 6 showing 8:00 in the morning on wednesday winter storm warnings in effect for northern florida, that just to the west of jacksonville is snow, sleet and freezing rain. for northern florida and then skirts the carolinas and the center of the storm is 250 miles to the east. most storms wouldn't even touch us with precipitation but this is such a beast of i storm that the precipitation goes as far west as philadelphia missing the brunt of it, however, if you are at the shore there will be some impacts wednesday night thursday, they will see the heaviest snow amounts 3 to 6 inches from this storm as it looks significant travel delays there and winds gusting to near 50 miles per hour creating blowing and drifting snow and again that is only for the shore communities. we'll talk about the rest of the region and also let you know how much longer we'll be below freezing. >> stay ahead of the latest track of the nor'easter as well as updates to the dangerously cold forecast by visiting 6abc.com. or downloading the free 6 abc app for your mobile device. >> the frigid temperatures are contributing to several water main breaks in and around philadelphia. one that broke early this morning in northeast philadelphia left a homeowner car partially submerged in water, tom jared lives at the corner and he says his cadillac was ruined and the water came into the home and damaged everything if his basement. when the sun came up and the water receded a mound of mud was left behind and all of this was left by the break of an 8 inch water main. >> i woke up to rushing water at 3:00 in the morning. i came down and saw a foot of water in the basement and i opened up the back door and it kind of rushes out and left the mud. and water damage everywhere. >> wow. the break left about 125 customers without water and crews are expected to have the main repaired sometime later tonight. >> a woman's body was found in the freezing cold overnight and still not clear how she died. she was inside of a van inside of a strip mall in philadelphia. john rawlins is live now at the scene where she was found. john, what are we learning about this. it's safe to say that the cause and manner of death will take weeks to determine, a silver minivan appeared in this parking lot. and saturday at some point in time one thing that stood out it's a white cloth and towel affixed to the drivers side window. an indication of a broken down vehicle. a closer examination today showed a woman's body and side of that van. >> it's a shame. she was looking for somewhere to sleep and didn't have any where to go. >> debbie points to where a minivan was parked and she was on her way to work and someone alerted her. >> someone had driven by and stopped me and said they thought there was someone in the back of the car and we had looked and we did see her. she was covered up with blankets and a pillow. >> debbie called 911. >> police arrived at the parking lot of these shops, steve cedar watched as the van was opened. the coroner came a little while later. >> and they removed the body. >> correct and towed the van. >> an adult woman?
