We had a big mess on the schuylkill, that construction that was blocking all lanes westbound when they were in the process of clearing it. It really backed up traffic but its all gone right now. Traffics moving fine. Construction clear in both directions. Schuylkill westbound is going to shut down again tonight at 11 oclock at 30th street so youll want to watch for that construction that will be out there later. Not a whole lot going on otherwise. Were looking pretty good. In chinatown, though, sixth street is blocked between race and arch. Theres a crane on the road so if youre in chinatown stick to fourth or eighth to get around it. Flyers play tonight at 7 oclock. Youll see some congestion there in south philadelphia. Vine street expressway looking good. Westbound, eastbound moving just fine. All lanes and ramps are opened and no overnight construction scheduled at all this week, so you will be fine this week on the vine. Developing overnight, there has been an update to a violent pedestrian crash in bucks county. Police now say a driver hit two people, stopped briefly to help them before peeling away from the scene. We now know a man and woman were struck, both teens, that woman is fighting for her life this morning. Meanwhile police are really on the hunt for the driver. Theyve released pretty detailed information about the suspects car. This is a look from overhead of the scene from chopper6 hd not long after the incident. Bensalem township and Lower Southampton Township Police responded to a street, to street road near philmont avenue in trevose and investigated reports of a hitandrun. Two victims were found, a man and a. Would, each 18 years old. They were rushed to aria torresdale hospital. The woman is in critical condition. The mans condition is unknown at this hour. Back at the scene, police of collected as much evidence as they could and soon they were able to come up with a detailed description of the suspects car. We know its a twotone maroon and tan or possibly gray 1997 to early 2000, two door ford pickup truck with a ladder rack and the investigation revealed Something Else that the driver did right after he struck the two victims. Take a listen. It was a hitandrun accident. A pickup truck came down the left lane as they were crossing the street, struck both pedestrians. The subject stopped temporarily, helped move the female victim to the side of the road and then fled eastbound on street road into bensalem township. Reporter and again, that woman is in critical condition. The mans condition is unknown. A firefighter was injured battling a two alarm blaze in chester Delaware County. The flames broke out in an abandoned home and spread to an occupied house next door. It all started on the 400 block of bickley place at 2 30 a. M. Arson investigators are now on the scene. A philadelphia neighborhood has been rattled by a vicious random attack on a homeless man. Police arrested two teens in connection with the beating death and they are looking for other juveniles who might be involved. Reporter matt, residents say the victim had just been walking down the street minding his own business before this happened. Two teens arrested. Police are searching for more after a fatal attack over the weekend that claimed the life of a homeless man. Seen him go by. Seen them run after him. Reporter the second before a brutal beating sunday morning in mayfair caught on this home surveillance video. The honer asked to remain anonymous. Police say a 57yearold homeless man was beaten to death by a group of teenagers shortly before 6 00 p. M. On the 4200 block of lorring street. The video shows the victim being followed before he was attacked out of frame. Ran away laughing like it was funny and they said we got him. They hit his head into the wall so hard that i felt it in my house on the second floor. Reporter that neighbor ran out to help the victim. His pockets were turned inside out. The teens scattered. The 57yearold was that rushed to the hospital where he died. Two of the teens are area were arrested after a neighbor recovered a cell phone. Neighbors are rattled. I cant believe that. That guy has been up and down this neighborhood. Like why now, why right here . Reporter and neighbors are planning a vigil for the victim sometime this week. And this mild pattern that were developing today stays with us for the next several days. Staying in Montgomery County the ramp from the turnpike westbound to norristown is partially blocked with construction and if youre in whitemarsh township youll have construction until december 11th here flourtown road is closing between butler pike and joshua road from 9 00 until 3 00 so it started yesterday and it lasts until the 11th. Theyre doing some gas main work. Just stick to Germantown Pike instead of flourtown road. That will get in you whitemarsh township. Lets look at these temperatures. Its cold out there. Its only 27 this morning waking up in quakertown. Its 29 in bethlehem. Cold out there in the Lehigh Valley. Also 29 in coatesville. 31 in pottstown. Thank you, karen. More than 100 passengers had to be rescued from a new york city ferry that ran aground only 60 seconds into the trip. Officials say the boats propeller hit a sand bar. It had just left the pier in manhattan headed for the rock a ways in queens. The captain tried to free the ferry but water started seeping in from a hole in the bottom. Just started trembling a little bit and then the captain said were stuck in the mud because of the low tide. You could feel the rumble of the roads hitting the sea floor. The Fire Department transported the passengers back to a pier where another boat was waiting for them. No one was physically hurt.
