Weather. A fatal motorcycle happened that happened around 3 00 this morning. The eastbound lanes of the schuykill remain closed for the investigation. They towed away the motorcycle a little bit ago but theyre still out there investigating so theyre still forcing all eastbound traffic off of 76 off of grays ferry avenue, university avenue. So you start to jam well before that. Just past the vine street expressway passing this point of south street into grays ferry where again youre forced off and you have to detour locally through university city. So i wouldnt get this far if i were you. If youre coming on eastbound on the schuykill towards center city and youre trying to get to the plat bridge, bail here on to the vine street expressway eastbound across town to 95 southbound, go through south philadelphia to get to philly international if that is your destination. Weve also been watching a crash on the ramp from the westbound schuykill to the eastbound vine. Luckily that one just cleared. So that westbound schuykill to eastbound vine ramp just reopened. You can see the traffic right there moving on it. So a little bit of better news there. But unfortunately it happened for township delco we have a crash on west chester pike by the Smoothie King so restrictions there as theyre cleaning up that accident. And still cleaning up a truck accident and fuel spill. Bailey street locally would be an alternate around that. Yeah, it is definitely a busy morning, karen. Weve been looking at satellite and radar and showing you the front that weve been tracking moving in from the west and again roads are dry but we do have a fair amount of clouds out there this morning. Thats a change today and the temperatures still mild at 62 degrees. Right now in philadelphia upper 50s in allentown, 60 in reading, 62 in millville, 66 in cape may. The schuykill expressway is closed in parts Near University city. Katherine scott is live at the scene where there was a deadly motorcycle crash. Shes got the details. Good morning, katherine. Reporter good morning, tam. Investigators are still looking into the circumstances surrounding this crash, but we do know one person died. There are several tow trucks on the scene right now. One we showed you earlier hooking up the wreckage from that motorcycle. The motorcycle is cleared, but that tow truck hasnt left yet. The tow right now seems to be hooking up the car involved in this crash, and you can still see investigators in the eastbound lanes of the schuykill expressway here in grays ferry. The eastbound lanes remain closed and cars are being forced off at exit 346b which is the exit for grays ferry avenue and university avenue. The crash happened just before 3 00 a. M. Between a car and a motorcycle. What exactly happened remains under investigation, but the driver of the motorcycle died. You can see damage to the white acura involved in the crash as well. There was a second motorcycle driving nearby, if youre looking at the video thats the one standing upright. That has also cleared. Somebody got on that and drove that one away. That was driving near that second motorcycle when this crash occurred. Airport police on routine patrol spotted the crash, they radioed Pennsylvania State police to respond. The motorcyclist was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. At this point theres no word at what led up to the crash or if any charges will be filed. There was a backlog of traffic behind this crash. Those cars started being let by this crash site shortly after 4 30 a. M. The rest of the traffic is still being forced off at exit 346b. Also breaking Philadelphia Police are looking for a gunman behind a deadly triple shooting. It happened on north dover street in the citys Strawberry Mansion section around 11 30 last night. Police say a group of people were hanging out on the corner when shots rang out. A 24yearold man was killed. Another 24yearold man and a 17yearold boy were injured. Theyre in stable condition. We will have more in a live report coming up in our next half hour. It is now 6 06 and Philadelphia Police are also investigating yet another deadly shooting. Shots were fired before 9 00 last night in the 1500 block of south stanley street. Police say a 21yearold man was hit in the chest and died from those injuries. Two other men were also injured. Police on that case still looking into why it all occurred. Now to the mass shooting in las vegas. Police are revealing new details about the gunman. They found an elaborate escape plan, explosives in his car, and they think he may have tried a dry run at another Music Festival in vegas last month. Investigators now want to know if Stephen Paddock had any help or if anyone knew about his plans. Police continue to call his girlfriend a person of interest. Paddock killed at least 58 people while police have revised the number of injured down to 489. He started shooting at 10 05 sunday night and ended his siege 10 minutes later. Officers moved into the room 75 minutes after the shooting stopped and found paddock dead of an apparent selfinflicted gunshot wound. Stephen paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and living a secret life much of which will never be fully understood. Investigators have questioned his girlfriend.
