By now most of them have cleared out including the one here in the eastbound lanes of route 63 woodhaven road between the boulevard and 95. They were blocking a lane all night. Theyre gone now. They will return at 8 oclock tonight and we had plenty of overnight construction on the vine street expressway eastbound as well between the schuylkill and broad street. Those crews, too, have cleared but will return tonight at 10 oclock so youre in the clear for now but theyll be coming back eventually. On the schuylkill expressway and the roosevelt boulevard speeds mostly in the 50s this morning. So, looking good. We have that big sunday hole sin kensington. Katherine will tell us more about that but from a traffic standpoint use sedilia and lehigh as possible alternates. A downed tree speaking of cedar early this morning in new hanover Montgomery County along swamp pike at wagner road. Thats been pushed out of the roadway so you can get by there now. Still getting by some construction on the garden state parkway northbound near the a. C. Expressway until 6 oclock southbound at the great egg tolls is going until 11 oclock. The right lane blocked. And dont forget if youre riding septas west trenton Regional Rail line youre on the buses again today just like yesterday and the weekend between woodbourne and west trenton, the signal improvements, theyre not finished yet. Water and gas utility crews have been working through the night to try and fix that large hole in the citys kensington section. Action News Reporter Katherine Scott is monitoring their progress live at tulip and huntingdon streets. Katherine. Reporter matt, this is a huge hole and we dont have a time line for when these repairs will be finished but its safe to say youll want to avoid the area this morning. I know matt pelman gave you some alternates and let me get out of the way here. Its hard to see the hole right now because the heavy equipment is blocking your view but you can see crews are working here and they have been working throughout the night. Philadelphia gas works and the Water Department have been on the scene here in kensington but this hole happened yesterday afternoon. Thats when it opened. The Fire Department was called in around 3 oclock for a water main break and owe at tulip and huntingdon. Thats when they discovered the sinkhole and it just kept getting bigger. Pgw is here because they have a gas line thats beneath the road and pgw says their service had not been disrupted. Water service has not been disrupted, either. Crews have been working throughout the night to get this fixed but at this point we dont know when these repairs will be finished. Obviously traffic cant get through this intersection so you need to take a different way this morning. At this point theres no word on what caused this water main break. Back here live you can see the heavy equipment has moved out of the way. They have blockades. They have this intersection closed off. Some of the surrounding streets have also been closed off because of all the equipment and vehicles here on the scene. From our delaware news room investigators are trying to determine if the death of a New Castle County man is suspicious. A man was found dead in the drivers seat of a car yesterday. He was parked near a business in the 100 block of saint claire drive in hockessin. Police have not said how the man died or released his identity. Race car driver Justin Wilson has died at Lehigh Valley hospital in allentown. He was involved in a freak accident at pocono race way on sunday. A large piece of debris flew off another race car that crashed into the wall. The debris struck wilson in the head. His car then also hit the wall. Indy car announced his death last night. Justins elite ability to drive a race car was matched by his unwaving kindness character and humility which made him one of the most respected members of the paddock. Justin wilson was also seriously injured in two prior races. He returned because he loved the sport despite its dangers. A Montgomery County judge has ordered Pennsylvania Attorney general Kathleen Kane held over for trial. The decision was handed down at a preliminary hearing yesterday in norristown. Kane faces up to seven years in prison if convicted of a felony perjury charge. Prosecutors say she leaked grand jury information to the media, lied about it under oath and had aides spy on the investigation into the claims. Kane says the charges are retaliation for her investigation of pornographic emails sent by some state prosecutors and judges. We have to persuade a judge and i think that we can do that that this evidence should be admitted. For our case, were looking at events that occurred before a grand jury when the defendant came and testified before a grand jury. The trial date for kane has not been set. Planners for the popes trip to philadelphia say the secret service and the city are working to release a complete list of items that will be allowed in the fencein security zone. And in new jersey, a 10 million state grant will help camden upgrade its First Response system for the papal visit. The intent is to ensure police, fire and ems can talk with each other on their radios and coordinate with state agencies during an emergency. Prisoners at the Curran Fromhold correctional facility are busy making a special gift for the pope. For the past few weeks the inmates have been building a commemorative chair which they will present to pope francis when he visits. Turning now accuweather, we have a few showers in south jersey this morning. Yeah, we do still have some along the coastline as well. We have that front we have been tracking came through and its still stuck in new jersey right now. Lets take a look right now at storm tracker6 live double scan. Those showers that were seeing up near reading and allentown just ground clutter not reaching the ground but you can see the activity thats along the coastline. Thats a little more pronounced near cape may, sea isle city, Atlantic City and surf city as that front kind of limps through the region, were still wet in spots along the coastline. Lets go outside because for the rest of us in philadelphia and areas south were dealing with the clouds. You certainly see that in Atlantic City, even some areas of fog this morning. That front is clearing from west to east and its really going change our weather from there. The temperature is 75 degrees right now. The dewpoints dropped just a little bit, its at 69 but that still feels very humid. The winds out of the west at six and now that the winds have switched in the city youre going start to feel that change. Lets take a look at satellite6 and action raid today. We have lots of clouds through much of the region. You can almost see where that front moved through. Now the showers are mostly along the coastline right at this point. Were looking at some clearing conditions to the northwest and some changes there and that fronts is going the clear from west to east. At 9 30 in the morning youll see the clouds start to dissipate in philadelphia tit will be nice and clear for the most part in the Lehigh Valley some clouds through south jersey and delaware and still some showers and this particular model doesnt show the showers leaving until 4 30 but i think along the coastline it will be clear by the early afternoon hours. The dewpoints, thats something different. Were tracking the change in the humidity, what it feels like. So, this is a look at 12 30 in the afternoon. Already feels much better in the city. So, as you step outside right now, it feels pretty muggy. By lunchtime its going to be really nice. Still going to be muggy in south jersey and delaware though. The front actually makes the difference with that drier air mass by the evening hours its going to feel great along the shore. So, were tracking a change in the humidity and the cloud cover through the day. By 8 00 a. M. , 78 degrees, still feeling muggy, still some showers at the shore. By 11 00 a. M. , 84. Youre getting more sunshine working its way and are starting to feel better in the city. By 2 00 p. M. , 86 degrees. In the city well have lots of sunshine, some clouds, areas to the north and west will be clear as well and feeling less humid. It will still be sticky at the shore but by 5 00 p. M. It is designed protect workers in construction zones. Crash trucks are typically fitted with crash barriers and are used to protect construction teams nearby. As a driverless vehicle workers will no longer have to actually be inside them and be placed in harms way. Thats a great idea but it is freaky. Or you could get to the airport via the Regional Rail line, thats fine but the west trenton Regional Rail line still shuttle busing like yesterday and the weekend between woodbourne and west trenton. Police dash cams reported a confrontation in kansas where a man actually used his dog as a weapon. Watch as the man swings his dog by the leash whipping it at the policeman.
