noon, 79 it will be warm this afternoon high of 83. that's below average. with low humidity and light breeze every now and then, it's a gorgeous august afternoon in the delaware and lehigh valleys. when i step inside we'll talk about a little warmer air moving in for tomorrow and then the humidity creeping back in time for the weekend. it's ahead in the seven day. what have you got on the roads early. we have no problems right now we're clear and roads have no issues with the weather, this is i-95 approaching cottman, just some building volume southbound approaching cottman and girard. look at the travel time. 14 minute ride, easy no problem right now. switching over to the vine street expressway, approaching the schuylkill expressway, westbound traffic getting heavy from the benjamin franklin parkway to the schuylkill expressway it slows as you exit for the schuylkill expressway. i've got an update on the car fire happening nicetown, abbots ford avenue was shut down. the car fire near the boulevard, the trucks have left the scene and no problems on the boulevard itself either. in white particular are -- white marsh township we have a water main break from yesterday it's still closed stick to germantown pike. you will see congestion this morning as the volume picks up. >> it was a lovely summer night to be out and about in the overbrook park section of philadelphia until a gunman went to work. a shots fired into a water ice stand hit a teenager in the face. katherine scott is live from the scene near the # 400 block of woodbine avenue. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam there were a lot of people enjoying the evening when a gunman walked up to a crowd of teenagers and opened fire. it happened at the water ice stand on the corner of woodbine and haverford. all the people scattered. now a 19-year-old is in critical condition at the hospital. >> at first i thought was fireworks, but it was too loud. >> reporter: max was making fried oreoss when two shots rang out. >> i looked out and i seen the flash. shot. >> reporter: a male armed with 380 caliber handgun walked up and fired hitting a 19-year-old man in the face. officers rushed him to the hospital in critical condition. the bullets were fired toward the window, but gene and his co-worker were not harmed. nobody else was hurt. >> a beautiful night when a lot of people are out here eating water ice shots were fired into a crowd which is a dangerous situation. >> reporter: investigators thing it stemmed from a neighborhood fight between youths. >> put down the guns and pick up a book and resolve the conflicts. >> reporter: police are looking for tips, but they are looking for surveillance footage in the area. there are a lot of businesses around here, so police are hoping there's footage that can help in the investigation. live in overbrook park katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> a fiery crash shut down part of the new jersey turnpike it happened in east brunswick after two tractor-trailer collided. one truck burst into flames and exploded over the crash. the truck was burned to the ground. both drivers walked away with minor injuries. the investigation is underway into what caused the crash. "action news" has learned a road in montgomery county is still closed after a water main break. flourtown road in white marsh township is closed after a 6-inch cast iron water main broke sending water on to the road. we'll let you know when the repairs are made and flourtown road is reopened. an 8-year-old is on the mend after shooting himself with a gun he found in germantown park. he picked it up and discharged hitting him in the foot. police are looking for the gun. philadelphia police are investigating a shooting in east falls, a 27-year-old man was shot in the back. this happened on the 3700 block of palisades drive. the victim is in critical condition at temple. a gunman has not been arrested. >> former president jimmy carter metastatic cancer. he did not identify the origin of the looking live near belmont no cars getting through at this point. the commuter traffic report we see people driving one-mile-an-hour, that's what they are traveling right now with the speeds. take route 23, conshohocken state road, ridge avenue to get around it. the schuylkill expressway a mess, the accident itself is westbound approaching belmont. but we can see eastbound they have the huge is. schuylkill expressway westbound continues to be jammed from montgomery drive to approaching belmont, as far as as you can see. eastbound, everybody is slowing down and checking it out. so
