So david if people happen to be outside right now in the western suburbs they might want to go back in. Yeah, back in or stay in the car and i wouldnt park the car under any trees right now, try and get it out in the open. Storm tracker6 live double scan right now has some showers and in one case a thunderstorm. I want to go in tight on that. We have a thunderstorm warning until 5 15 extending over towards philadelphia and Delaware County. Right now the storm which is moving at a pretty good clip about 45 Miles Per Hour toward the east. So much that i have to keep readjusting this storm track. It is pushing right in towards chadds ford. It will be there not too much longer only a few more minutes, 4 46 is the estimated time of arrival, lenape 4 44. Glen mills just after that Chester Heights gradyville aston in Delaware County 4 56 as this is moving quickly to the east. Main threat from this lightning. We had 12 strikes within the last probably 10 minutes out of this and that big white one there has just happened within the last 30 seconds or so. So, lightning is a threat. Also heavy downpours with this and out ahead of the storm as it pushes east we could see as high as 40 Miles Per Hour gusts. Now be these numbers ive just given you dont denote a severe storm but it certainly is a storm that can cause Property Damage with the 40 Miles Per Hour gusts maybe some tree branches and wires down as it comes through. But also the frequent lightning, thats a concern for pedestrians and people getting in and out of their houses. So, the rule of thumb is to stay in your car, stay in your home until this guests past you. Looks like it will probably take the worst of it maybe about 15 minutes to get past although even after that you can have lightning jumping behind the storm ill give you the wide view too now that weve tracked that storm for you. The rest of the area theres a little bit of Lightning Strike recently to the east of reading in northern Montgomery County but most of the activity up to the north appears to be fading away into just showers. Additional thunderstorms farther to the west of baltimore that may come through later this morning and areas to the south. Lets get you outside. We have the airport there across the region. We are looking at mainly dry conditions now but that rain is on the way from the west. Real quickly i want to check out the threat from the storms this morning particularly that one i just spotted. Lightning, downpours and strong winds are all a high possibility. Theres a low possibility for hail out of this. Im posting moderate for tornado although that is a fairly small chance. There is some talk about storms today from the National StormPrediction Center potentially producing an isolated tornado so i didnt want to totally exclude that. I think the big issue new york is a Straight Line wind about 40 Miles Per Hour, all that lightning and the downpours. 76 degrees in philadelphia, dewpoints 64 degrees. So once again like yesterday its going to be humid. After we get rid of the morning storms the rest of the day looks mainly dry although as we go into the afternoon there is the chance of another popup shower or thunderstorm especially south of us down the shore. And severe probabilities yeah, there is the chance of some of these storms that form later today and those that are coming through this morning producing strong wind gusts. Were not quite seeing that strong of a wind gust. There is an outside chance that something produces some hail and again that isolated tornado chances mainly from about i95 down to the shore. Most of you wont see storms this afternoon but those that do, do need to be careful about them and take them seriously. Head indoors on the lower floors. 92 is todays high and you can see how well spend most of the day in the humid 80s and 90s. Your sevenday from accuweather, 92 degrees, some morning storms giving way to mostly clouds and sun this afternoon with just a slight chance of a spotty storm in the southern half of the region later today. Less humid tomorrow. Feeling more comfortable 89. And then thursday down to 82 although on thursday clouds will increase and thursday night into friday morning were looking at some heavy rain. There might even be more periods of heavy rain in the afternoon on friday depending on the speed of the system. And a thunderstorm tossed in as well. It still looks like the weekend though is mainly dry and feeling fairly comfortable. Looks good. Thanks, david.
