>> reporter: we have rain in south jersey and delaware, the other issue is heavy downpours and lightning. those of you in surf city, atlantic city and cape may, in the next 30 minutes you'll get the showers and thunderstorms. again it is starting to die down a little bit in the i-95 corridor. in the wide view you can't see the movement. it is pushing toward the east and toward the south. there's a wave of low pressure that's triggering this this morning. some of the downpours from the storms have been heavy. we have flood advisories in southeastern pennsylvania. they have been dropped but we have them for camden, gloucester county salem and current county new jersey. you never drive through flooded roads find another way around. 70 in wilmington and allentown and trenton. 74 in sea isle city. it's humid out there. dewpoints up above 7 in spots down south that's extremely humid. the high 60s to mid 60s across the rest of the region indicates sticky air still in place. 71 degrees with the rain falling. 73 by 8:00. 80 by noon. 83 by 3:00 p.m. the high will be late in the afternoon. 84 degrees, that probably comes in around # 30:00 or 4:00. 6:00 p.m., 81 degrees, there's a chance of pop-up showers or thunderstorms. pretty much at any time and heavy downpours would be a possibility when that occurs. we have more heat in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, perhaps another heat wave matt. details coming up. >> reporter: raining cats and dogs in conjunction with these storms david. we expectment puddles and lakes on the roads when you drive this morning. the good news, construction crews were forced to pack up and go home a little early. in gulph mills you're driving through the puddles and standings water, but you're not contending with the restrictions because of construction. vine street expressway, # -- 676 all lanes are open by the schuylkill expressway. we have a construction closure on i-95 the ramp from the northbound lanes to cottman avenue been closed all weekend scheduled to reopen at 5:00 p.m. for the next half-hour use the ramp at academy road. expect down tree limbs and in this case a whole tree blocking the southbound lanes of 611 easton road which is sunday road which is not any more. and river road. stick with gallos hills road instead. we'll be without a couple of streets in camden as they tear down a building. federal street will be blocked off, stick with mlk. >> police are trying to track down a driver in a deadly hit-and-run. police say a driver of a mazda was pulling out of a parking spot near i street at 10:30. an suv smashed into the mazda and fled to the scene. the injured driver was taken to the hospital and died a short time later. a passenger is in critical condition this morning. a witness who saw the crash called 911 and updated police on the location of the striking vehicle. that suv was found a short time later on rising sun avenue near 9th street. the driver had abandonedded vehicle and remains at large this morning. we'll update the story throughout the morning. police arrested a man hours a woman and child were found stabbed in philadelphia. this morning danecia berrian and her 21-month-old child are in critical condition. police arrested the woman's husband, stephen burton in maryland. a neighbor called police saying she witnessed stephen burton stab his wife with a butcher knife. state police released more evidence of a robbery of a gas station in wilmington. this picture shows the robber who shot the clerk. the man walked into the convenience store friday afternoon shot the clerk in the stomach and drove off in his suv. detectives in the queen village section. city is trying to figure out who slashed tires over the weekend. the vandals targeted 18 vehicles along swan son an queen street. police started getting calls at 7:00 a.m. firefighters in chester county found two dogs that everyone thought had died in the fire. it happened in east fal low field township. two women escaped the dogs were nowhere to be found. firefighters got a call that the dogs were spotted on the second floor. firefighters say the fire has been linked to smoking. bobbi kristina brown has died at the age of 22. the daughter of singer whitney houston had spent the last 6 months in a coma. of earlier this year she was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her home. that was similar to the death of her mother after she was found face down in a bathtub. her father released the statement saying the young woman is at peace and with god. firefighters out west are battling 24 major wildfires across five states. crews are grateful for cooler temperatures which came in overnight. abc has more. >> reporter: the fire fight in full force flames and helicopters attack from above and reporter: the house he built himself is in the handles of firefighters. as flames approach crews get set to defend the home clearing out trees and brush, one of about two thousand structures threatened forcing hundreds to evacuate. >> i'm going to grab my four dogs and get in my car and leave and hope they can save my house. >> reporter: this fire season has turned into an exhausting one, homes. water inundated homes in north richie. >> let's turn to david murphy, a lot of rain coming down fast what can we expect? >> reporter: coming down at a rate of one inch an hour in south jersey as the thunderstorms push toward the shore. we had these in southeastern pennsylvania you might have been woken up a little bit while ago. there are recent lightning strikes around buena and hammonton and route 355 glassboro toward millville. there's additional action coming in from the west. as we start this up, real quick i'll give you a movement of this, it is pushing toward the east very slowly, but over the next half-hour to 60 minutes. those of you in places like atlantic city will be seeing this. fortunately in philadelphia and wilmington, the heavy stuff is beginning to subside although we have moderate rain falling there are flood advisories in parts of south jersey where the rain is at its heaviest. i'll leave you with the wide view most of the heavy action in delaware and pushing toward the coast. this is round one with more coming later in the day. we have cloudy skies and wet conditions at philadelphia international airport. the intensity of the rain beginning to die down in the i-95 corridor. the temperature is 71 degrees and it is muggy. very much so with the dewpoint up to 68. winds out of the east not all that strong 3 miles per hour. if you see the thunderstorms this morning and again later today, the big issue is heavy downpours followed by lightning. maybe gusty wind in front of some of these where you get the heavy downpours. now, by 12:00 looks like most of the area could be in a a little bit of a lull. there could be a chance it spills into the 3:00 p.m. period into the early evening. not everybody sees these at once today, but in our very warm and humid air mass, anything that pops has the possibility of downpours. we get up to 8:30 or 9:00 most of this is tapering off. as we look at temperatures, 73 degrees by 8:00 a.m. 80 degrees by 11:00 a.m. we spend the afternoon in the low to mid 80s. high of 84 around 3:00, 3:30 this afternoon. 83 degrees by 5:00 p.m. there's a chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm at any time into the evening hours. 84 in allen to un. 84 in philadelphia. on or about down the shore be careful down the shore because once again we're looking at rip currents and temperatures probably running 75 degrees in the water but you do definitely want to swim near the lifeguards again today if you have a period of a day in between showers and thunderstorms. today's high 84 humid showers and thunderstorms at times. the heat is returning, 92 hot and humid on tuesday 96 degrees very hot and humid wednesday. thursday steamy, high of 93. wednesday and thursday there's a special concern because the heat and the humidity will combine to give you heat indexes between 95 and 100. wednesday and thursday will be the two worst days. less humid friday, hot 90. sunny and hot saturday, 90. we could see four or five heat wave depending on whether we see the 90s. and sunday, 89 degrees. welcome home the hottest team in baseball your philadelphia phillies. >> it doesn't matter. >> better late than never. a well-known south jersey chain saw artist said someone stole his chain saws. the alleged thief broke into his store in bridgeton saturday night. he was especially busy since strong storms knocked over so many trees last month. he filed a report with new jersey state police. american beverage association is suing san francisco over the city's plan to require warning labels on sugary drinks. the city proved last month -- approve last month a warning that sugary drinks causes obesity and tooth kay. china looks at the ban on video game systems over concerns that children waste time playing them all day long. the company is promoting the industry with a manufacturing zone for video games. the major stock indices ended down on friday. futures point to a 5th day of losses at least probably heard them, i don't have to tell you that was going on. cruise just came along and unclogged the drain on the ramp. in spots like this that normally flood when there are downpours you'll see the high water this morning. elsewhere on the schuylkill expressway i mentioned this bainchts times -- a bunch of times, starting today they will close the ramp to spring garden street. it will be closed starting today. the ramp on i-95 northbound at cottman avenue that was closed all weekend for construction that's reopened. you can use that again. 422 construction crews packed up and went home early. everything reopened, but of course the road is wet. we're watching a downed tree in cint in -- kint easton road is blocked. >> a married couple was stabbed inside a church in maryland. the husband died. his wife has taken to the hospital in critical condition. police arrested the attacker, they say he recently arrived in town and had been living in the church for the past week. authorities did not say why he stabbed the couple or if he knew them. >> a small plane flew into a house and we've got the aftermath. lots of white smoke in the home in riverside california, the pilot reported a loss of engine power before the crash. it caught fire shortly after that. the pilot was the only person on board. there's no word on the extent of his injuries. nobody on the ground was hurt. an out-of-control driver damaged a home in kensington. it happened on east tioga street. the car went through a fence and ended up in the home's backyard. >> 4:53, the what i will that washed up
