Lets go find out from meteorologist adam joseph. Hey, adam. Its not going to last long. The clouds are beginning to march in from the west, the humidity is going the start to increase over the weekend as a warm front passes through but not bad as we close out the week. Present numbers, 82 in philadelphia and many areas just in the upper 70s from reading, wilmington, millville and at the shore weve got a sea breeze with temperatures there also in the upper 70s. But as we look to the west on double scan live radar theres a warm front draped in the western part of pennsylvania and west of washington. Thats going to swing through here during the overnight hours tonight. Thats going to introduce that tropical humidity again and also spark a couple of showers off a little later tonight. So overnight it turns humid with a late shower possible. Early tomorrow morning its muggy with a lot of clouds and then tomorrow afternoon the clouds are really going try to fight the sun. Some breaks of sun tomorrow afternoon and theres also the chance of a popup thunderstorm in the afternoon with some energy that rolls through. Hi, brian and eve v thats the good news that its friday out there but as you can suspect its very slow going. People started i think their vacation around lunchtime today because were seeing a lot of volume out there. Here we are on 95. This is right at cottman avenue and southbound lanes. You can see an accident here. Penndot is on the scene. We have a tow truck there. Cause something delays there. You can see only taking about 18 minutes. Not too bad getting through there. They tried to move that over to the side. Speeds though across the region nice and slow in the teens out there. 12 Miles Per Hour on the schuylkill expressway. Taking a look out near king of prussia 17 Miles Per Hour out there on 202. You can see the blue route nice and slow as well and of course 95 the whole stretch is very slow. Were going to go over to a picture of the schuylkill expressway. Here are our eastbound lanes as theyre making their way up towards the walt whitman bridge. As you suspect a lot of people heading to the shore this weekend so again its just slow going out there. Have a lot of patience this afternoon. Taking a look at the 42 freeway, this is right at creek road and these are our southbound lanes. Taking about 25 minutes right now to go from the walt whitman bridge down to the Atlantic City expressway. Not looking too badly if youre heading up in those northbound lanes. Talking about a few incidents out there. Plymouth township ridge pike and conshohocken road we have a water main break to report. And we have a motorcycle involved in this accident at newtown township route 332 and buck road so keep that in mind and one more to tell you about, the pennsylvania turnpike westbound at willow grove, we have a disabled vehicle taking out the right lane. The fbi is investigating but agents say theyre not sure if the incidents are related. Well, one of the google selfdriving cars was just in an accident that involved injuries for the very first time. Everyone is expected to be okay after someone rear ended the google car which did have people inside of it even though none was driving. Other drivers have hit a self driving car 14 times since 2009 but its never resulted in any injuries. Analysts say it shows that while googles cars may work on their own theres still some work to do to account for mistakes other drivers can and will make on the road. The news did not exactly hurt googles stock today which soared above 700 at times today closing numbers right here the biggest single day gains since 2008. In the meantime the dow down about 34 points, the nats dac up 47 points to close at a record high. The s p picked up two points but gained two and a half percent on the week. Some middle school girls are becoming little business women and learning what it takes to get a startup off the ground. They jumped right into the dolphin school, a friendlier version of the abc hit show the shark tank. Now dont let the smiles and giggles fool you. For the last week, these 11 to 14yearolds have been learning how to start their own tech businesses. Their projects range from sports to game to go saving animals and today they got the chance to stand in front of some real life investors. Weve learned how to do an elevator pitch and stuff like that so i think that was pretty fun. We have learned a lot about business and working with other people like on a big project. I learned a lot about Marketing Strategies because that really helps get the word out and interact with the people who will buy your product. So eventually theyll become loyal customers because you stay like active with them. Right. Impressive. The goal of the camp is to teach the girls the basic tools of becoming tech entrepreneurs and helping them connect with other techie girls like themselves and in the end everyone got a backer. Some smart cookies there. Well have to remember those names, eva. I know, watch out. Delaware valley middle schoolers became nasa engineers for the day. They had 35 minutes to design and build a shock absorbing system for a lander that would safely deliver an astronaut to mars and they were restricted to household materials like plastic cups and pipe cleaners. Each lander was tout a test during a 2meter drop. This challenge was just one fun part of a two week science camp hosted by Temple University. And that was your smart kid block. Brilliant. All right, time now for a check of the accuweather forecast. Lets head over to adam joseph. Were all scratching our heads still. I just want to be that kid thats riding the waves right now in sky6 live in cape may. You can see a lot of those blue umbrellas, they are up, a lot of folks at the shore enjoying a very nice end to the week. Weve got a sea breeze at the shore right now with temperatures around 78 in beach haven, 81 on the boardwalk as well as sea isle city. Again that water temperature is pretty warm so you dont get much of a drop from inland locations, at least this time of year. 79 wilmington, 79 in reading and allentown coming in at 80 degrees. 90degree days so far this year weve been right on the edge of where there really hasnt been any to where theres been a surplus. Weve had 10 days so far this year. Thats a little below normal. We will make up for that over the next week but new york city only one day of 90 or above the Summer Season, zero in boston and down to the south you can see theyve been cooking from washington down to raleigh, 22 to as much as 26 days so far this Summer Season above 90. Satellite and radar clouds are on the increase from the west and you can see a stripe of showers west of state college. This is a warm front. That will push through during the overnight hours. So, temperatures tonight a little warmer than the last couple of nights, 68 allentown, 70 philadelphia. Millville 69 degrees. 70 in dover and low 70s at the shore. Again, some late showers come in but it should be after the midnight hour that we see some of them and not everyone is going to get wet tonight. 4 30 in the morning, you can see that stripe of showers east of philadelphia, trenton as that warm front migrates to the north and east and as we get into saturday, we start with a lot of clouds in the morning and clouds are going to fight the sun throughout the entire day tomorrow and there will be some popup downpours around us at 2 oclock. Its far from a washout so do not cancel any outdoor plans no matter where you are but just be prepared that you could get briefly wet during the afternoon. Here is the temperatures that go along with future tracker at 2 oclock and how its going to feel with the combination of the air temperature and the humidity. 98 philadelphia, near 100 in wilmington. Nine sick in the northwestern suburbs, even the poconos in the middle 80s and a little bit of a break in wildwood coming in at 80 degrees of how its going to feel. So heres your weekend kickoff for saturday. A scattered afternoon storm in the city. Again, a hazy day 90 degrees. At the shore clouds and sun could be that popup in the afternoon of 80 degrees. But still plan on hitting the sand. And then in the poconos humid with an isolated storm ann little bit better at 79 degrees. The exclusive accuweather four day at 4 00 humid with a scattered storm possible tomorrow afternoon of 90 degrees and were going to shake a lot of the clouds away the second half of the weekend on saturday but thats when we have a surge of the heat and humidity that will turn dangerous. 95 feeling close to 100 to 105 degrees sunday afternoon and then it stays steamy, stormy at times monday of 92. Still hot on tuesday of 90, a little less humid. So although weve only had 10 days so far this year, were going to tag probably another four on at least in that sevenday forecast and there could be a couple of more. Ill show you the numbers coming up. Youre shaking your head. It just seems like its making me hot already. [laughter] just wait for the weekend. Drink a lot of water. Thank you adam. Today was Just Plane Fun at Philadelphia International airport. Travelers were treated to a fashion show by the eagles cheerleaders. The squad modeled clothing and shoes on a custom runw
