United Airlines Flights are taking off again after a computer glitch grounded all planes this morning. The outage led to long lines at airports across the country, this is the second time it has been hit with technical problems in the last month. Reporter matt things are slowly getting back to normal here, the crisis ended after two hours but the Ripple Effect is felt here in philadelphia and around the country. United has a small footprint here at Philadelphia International airport, it operates about 20 flight as day from here, the passengers here this morning faced big delays getting shorter by the minute. And the flight to houston left at 11 00 this morning and that lasts four hours since the computer glitch and the flight to chicago to hours delays and the delays were much longerer at united major hubs around the country, united says the problem was caused by a Network Connectivity issue and grounded all flights starting at 7 30 this morning, ticket agents resorted to the old fashion method of written tags for baggage and people with united flights can expect long delays around the country aas the system gets back to normal. Our first flight from philadelphia to chicago was delayed by 37 minutes and our next flight from chicago to anchorage anchorage, only an hour in between so it will be tight getting to our second flight. United had a similar problem with a computer failure back on june 2nd, at this point it aappears to be a technical issue and no evidence of any kind of criminal hacking and things like we said are slowly getting back to normal at Philadelphia International airport, david henry, channel 6 action news.
