A worker died in the early hours of Sunday morning after becoming trapped in a piece of equipment at the Innovative Fibers plant in Spartanburg, SC, local news organizations reported.
54-year-old Anthony Dean Lemmons was fatally injured when the accident occurred at about 1:15 a.m., coverage by television news station WMBF said. The man was pronounced dead about an hour after becoming entrapped.
Innovative Fibers confirmed the worker’s death in a statement to FOX Carolina:
“First responders from the facility and local emergency personnel were immediately notified and were on scene. Production at the plant was stopped and is scheduled to resume at a later date.”
