Crazy weekend with the shootings in our town. Lots of them in bronx and brooklyn primary ally. One party saw nine shootings. Nine people shot. What is happening . Carry drew is lye at the carrie drew is live at the 75th precinct in new york. This was an incredibly violent weekend, 32 people shot 22 people shot at various locations in the bronx and brooklyn including those nine here in East New York. Community leaders are calling on city hall to step in and try and do something about all of this violence. Surveillance video shows the moment that shots were fired, turning an East New York house party into chaos. In total nine people were wound. Around the same time in fort green, a man was shot dead in the walt whitman houses, and in the bronx there were three shootings. 20yearold Christian Garcia did not survive. Several others were shot this weekend including rosalynn jacksons son, a 24yearold, who was killed. Enough is enough. Im tired, but im not going to let my sons death be in vain, because they shot him down like he was a dog in the street. The gun violence has Community Leaders calling for help from mayor de blasio. Were tired of standing here saying to the city, do something. You got elected to be the mayor of the city, step up and do your job. Community activist tony herr or bert and eric adams held a News Conference sunday asking for emergency funds to help stop streets. Before this weekends violence, the nypds latest statistics showed a 10 increase in murders through july 27th. And murders were up 75 in the 75th precinct where the house Party Shooting took place. The number one thing the mayor, the governor and our federal lawmakers can do is put money on the ground to these proven organizations. The Mayors Office says overall crime is down and that officers have been added to highcrime areas. His press secretary said in a statement, quote the mayor takes very seriously each incident and has directed nypd to beef up its presence in these areas. Police commissioner bill bratton addressed the problem on a sunday radio show. We need to get this right, because we cant repeat the fiasco of the 1970s that were now feeling 40 years rater in terms of the homeless issues, the emotionally disturbed. According to the air Traffic Control recordings, the pilot of a delta flight from virginia spotted the drone yesterday evening. This is delta [inaudible] altitude . Pilot doesnt sound alarmed, but how about that . A drone right next to the runway at 30 feet in altitude. There have been numerous sightings of drones around kennedy airport.
