Abc7 learned 18yearold jasper spires is the man. He has a history of arrests. His most recent arrest is raising questions of whether spires should have been on the street the day Kevin Sutherland was stabbed to death. Spires was arrested this morning along the 4800 block of Georgia Avenue northwest. Two days after police say he fatally stapped stabbed 24yearold Kevin Sutherland on the metro train. Good that they got the guy. Sad to hear someone lost their life. Last week he was arrested on robbery charge. Spires had an empty wine botle in hand in this case, grabbed the victim on wisconsin avenue and said what do you have in your pocket . Spires pushed the victim up against the wall and searched the victims pocket. Spires allegedly kicked and bunched officers when he was arrested. He was released friday after the charges were reduced from robbery to simple assault and assaulting a police officer. In a state, bill miller with the u. S. Attorneys office says the u. S. Attorneys office determined that the facts were legally insufficient to sustain the charge of robbery by the police. The offense of robbery requires something of value to be taken from the victim. Here according to the police, nothing was taken. One day after he was released spires allegedly stabbed sutherland to death. Sutherland from connecticut graduated from American University in 2013 and was now said to work another new blue interactive. Over the past year five bats got in her mont gomry county apartment and the building manager was slow, she claims doing anything about it. The last bats made it through the vents over her sons bed a few weeks ago. The animals tested positive for rabies and the family decided to move in with friends until the situation was handled. I dont like bats. I hate them. Horace after the story ran, the Montgomery Department of housing came in and condemned the apartment and they posted signs to warn other tenants there are bats in the area. Hopkins was able to get out of her lease and move her family to a new apartment complex. If it wasnt for you we wouldnt have made progress as fast as we did.
