devon: that's right, hefty storms to the west. the belfort furniture weather center, the stormscan, heavy storms out and about. as we get to the doppler radar right to the heart of the matter, there is a look at the rain still mostly in virginia, shower activity montgomery county near bethesda. as national harbor, prince george's county, rain. the red box to the west is a flash flood watch. quantico, fort belvoir getting into the mix, old town alexandria showers moving your way. most of the storm staying to the west. the flash flood warning for the rural areas rappahannock culpeper, page counties. we are tracking the rain. all of the indications, the radar information, this will be here for parts of the morning commute. the second round will be tomorrow afternoon, evening. after that, the heat returns to the forecast. how hot and how long in just a few minutes. kellye: a deadly stabbing on a red line train and the police are zeroing in on the suspected killer. they want you to be on alert for 18-year-old jasper spires, charged with first-degree murder in the death of kevin sutherland. a lot of new developments in the case, and roz plater has been following them. rozl: sources tell abc 7 the fugitive task force is hunting for the suspect. we begin with what we learned about the victim. 24-year-old kevin sutherland seem to have everything going his way. he recently started working for a political strategy firm, were his coworkers are now mourning his loss. >> we all loved working with kevin. he is a bright spot and it was a real pleasure to work with. it's a terrible tragedy. roz: students at american university are grieving the graduate of money 13, 8 for select a government officer, the student body president calling it unthinkable loss saying, "he is emblematic of who we are and who we hope to be." he was on the matter early saturday afternoon, heading to meet friends to celebrate the fourth of july. they say that he was stabbed to death on the train as it approached the station. investigators are not confirming the motive. they say this man is his suspected killer, 18-year-old jasper spires, wanted for first-degree murder while armed. the police say if you spot the suspect, do not approach him simply call 911. roz plater, abc 7 news. kellye: new developments from anne arundel county, the police have arrested a woman for allegedly banding -- abandoning her baby girl on the side of the road. they charged her with child neglect and recklessness endangerment. she called 911 this morning saying she was the mother of a girl found along the road in pasadena. the child was supposed to be with the father, she said. detectives determined that mcclary was the one who left the girl and drove off. >> it look like a child seat. we were wondering if it was a child in the seat or a seat in the street. as we got close to it, there was a child. the child was not crying, but the child was in the seat. kellye: the little girl is in good condition and in the custody of protective services. today, an emotional end to the world police and fire celebratory event, turning into a memorial for officers lost.
