MADISON, WI (KDAL) – The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board will meet virtually on Monday to discuss the next steps to establish a wolf hunt in 2021.
Gray wolves were removed from the federal endangered species list by the U-S Fish and Wildlife Service last month and last week a Wisconsin judge ordered the state to schedule a wolf hunting season this month.
The public can watch the 11 a-m special meeting on Zoom or a live stream at https://dnrmedia.wi.gov/main/Catalog/Full/9da0bb432fd448a69d86756192a62f1721
The DNR estimates that there are over a thousand wolves in the state, primarily in the northern third and central forest region. Wisconsin last held a wolf hunt in 2014.
