Winona council rejects Broadway road diet (2/3/2021)
The Winona City Council put the kibosh on the Broadway road diet project on Monday, at least for the foreseeable future. In a 4-3 vote, the City Council chose to stop all work to change Broadway from four driving lanes to two. Council members Steve Young, George Boryzskowski, Aaron Repinksi and Michelle Alexander voted in favor of the motion to stop the project. Mayor Scott Sherman and council members Eileen Moeller and Pam Eyden voted against the motion. It took about four minutes for the council to deliberate Monday, after years of passionate arguments for and against the road redesign.
