Winnie Madikizela-Mandela | Biography, Death, & Facts

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, South African social worker and anti-apartheid activist considered by many Black South Africans to be the “Mother of the Nation.” She was the second wife of Nelson Mandela; they separated in 1992 after her questionable behavior and militancy alienated him and other anti-apartheid activists.
