A Wilkes University professor has joined more than 1,000 political scientists nationwide in calling for the immediate removal of President Donald Trump in the aftermath of the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.
Dr. Kyle Kreider signed on to a letter that demands Trump be impeached by the U.S. Congress or removed through the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
“It’s very, very rare you could get 100 political scientists to agree on something, let alone 1,000,” Kreider said Thursday. “Political scientists don’t normally step into the political fray, but his behavior (Wednesday) goes beyond the pale. There needs to be a reckoning for his unconstitutional and immoral actions.”
