The 15th Judicial District Child Advocacy Center conducted 318 interviews on potential child abuse cases in 2020, but its new director suspects there are more.
Sexual abuse represents about 90% of the cases reported to the center, which serves youth ages 3-17 in Wilson, Jackson, Macon, Smith and Trousdale counties, Executive Director Scott Ridgway said.
