Think of a ‘pretty home’ and certain looks might spring to mind: chintz, curtain pelmets, ruffles, a vintage china collection. All of which would have been seen as dated or suburban just a few years ago, but now, thanks to the current fascination with ‘cottagecore’, aka granny chic, it’s bang on trend. Whether it’s the influence of the floral- and fabric-heavy interiors in television series such as The Crown, fashion’s current love of prairie dresses and oversized frilled collars, or simply a desire to feel more comfortable in our homes, pretty is popular once again.
