Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins died on April 28th, 2021, at the age of 90 after a long battle with cancer in the last few years. Buzz Aldrin, who is the only surviving crew member of the mission, wrote in a poignant tribute: “Dear Mike, Wherever you have been or will be, you will always have the Fire to Carry us deftly to new heights and to the future.
