Daryl Van Schouwen/Sun-Times CLEVELAND — The White Sox’ final game of a four-game series in Cleveland scheduled for Wednesday afternoon has been postponed due to inclement weather. It will be made up as part of a split doubleheader (12:10 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. CT) on Sept. 23, the first two of five games in Cleveland. Right-hander Lance Lynn, who was scheduled to start for the Sox on three days rest against Jean Carlos Mejia, will start Thursday when the Sox open a four-game series against the Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field. Related The AL Central Division leading Sox (33-22) lost two of the first three games of the series against the Indians (30-24), who are close behind in second place with four months remaining in the season. The teams split a doubleheader Monday and the Indians held on to defeat the Sox 6-5 on Tuesday night.
